We arrive with our 3 young-uns (10,8,5) at the crack of dawn after a red-eye from CA on July 29. We will want to have dinner somewhere close to the Poly. We aren't planning on any parks the first day, but who knows we may "dabble" but would like to be close to the hotel when jet lag hits. Who likes the Grand F Cafe and will I need ADR's? We have lots of ADR's planned we just want simple fare the first night.

DW, and I did the Grand Floridian Cafe for the fist time in Feb and had a very nice time. The food, atmosphere and service were all top notch. Seemed like a good place or kids as well. The one place I would recommend if you are att he Poly is Kona's. Most people know it as a great breakfast place (which it is) but we (DW and DD) love it for dinner too. The steak was great and the desserts were fun and very kid oriented!

Either way should be great. Eat, watch the water parade and off to bed!:thumbsup2

I think I would plan to eat at the CS at the Poly. If you are feeling adventurous, you could head over to the MK for a bite. That is a simple monorail ride away.

I would suggest heading over to the MK and take the boat to the Wilderness Lodge. Dining at the Whispering Canyon will be a time that your kids will never forget. After dining, hop back on the boat to MK and then back to the Poly. Good Luck

While I agree that Whispering Canyon is fun and great for kids, it is not near the hotel if a quick return with tired kids is needed. It is also not a quiet meal if the kids need some down time at dinner after a long day.

GF Cafe and Kona sound like great options.

Chef Mickey and Ohana and 1900 Park Faire are on the monorail and provide lively dining but a quick escape if needed.

Good luck planning and have a great trip!
