Hi all,I was wondering were you all like to get groceries from? I was driving around and went to 2 places Iwas Not thrilled with Is there still a food world?I can't remember what the names of the places are but we took a left when you get to the end of the hotel row and DTD,also went to Walmart and Whole foods,I want good prices and great selection thanks

did you go to Publix? That's our favorite, just a bit away from DTD right off International Drive by the Outlet Mall. We even got Thanksgiving dinner from them one year as a pre-packaged deal and it was fabulous and low priced.

I second Publix. As a local, Publix is the only grocery store we shop at.

If you made a left out of Hotel Plaza Blvd. you most likely ended up at Winn Dixie.

Instead, make a right, go under the I-4 overpass and at the next light make a left onto Vineland Road. Follow around past the church & the outlets & Marriott Village & Publix will be on your left. Much better, IMO. :thumbsup2

I agree with Publix. Winn-Dixie is not as good (we tried there once and used to have one near us when we lived in Montgomery AL - we shopped at Delchamps there, not W-D).

We go to Publix or Super Target...sometimes both! Great selections, good prices, nice clean bright stores.

We tend to go to Super Walmart off to the right out of Hotel Plaza Dr. The prices are very good, but selection can be rough. It feels like the place is always overrun and out of stock of various items.

We've done Publix as well, just a tad further down the road. Selection is much better but prices are certainly higher than Walmart.

We've always stopped at Albertsons on the way in from the airport. If I remember correctly, it's right off Exit 9 on Rte 417.

I don't think you can beat using www.gardengrocer.com

We used our DVC membership 3 times last year and placed orders with gardengrocer.com each time and they were flawless. They always have everything we want, it's delivered ontime and waiting for us. And we have even had 2 deliveries within one week.

I highly recommend them!

Partial to Publix here (my first job was as a cashier, 25+ years ago). Wal-mart is cheaper on some things, but Publix is very competitive and actually cheaper on sale items. Albertsons has recently closed many of their Florida stores, I don't know if the one on 417 was affected or not. In my opinion, Winn-Dixies are not kept up as well as most Publix stores are. I won't go to our local one unless I have to.

I'm not sure if it is the one on 417, but the one I used to stop at on the way from the airport was closed when we were there in Jan.
We have done Publix, SuperTarget and Garden Grocer with good luck.

We were just at OKW in February and used Garden Grocer. They were great and out delivery was free because we went in with another family so our order was large. We didn't have a car, so this was the most practical. I didn't think their prices were too bad. They also picked up alcohol for us even though it is not on their list. We just had to put in a special request. I would use them again.

Oh, Oh! Thanks for the warning. Exactly how do we get to Publix from OKW? Someone mentioned their donuts-that convinced me!
