I know it's in DCA, but where? We did not do enough exploring last time we were there. It was our first trip as a family, and even with 5 days, we were just too into DL to do much at DCA. That was the first time for all of us at DCA.

Oh, and my crazy dd has decided she wants to ride ToT. I told her she probably wasn't tall enough, and she had me look it up in "the book" (Birnbaum's). Yup, she's tall enough. And she's only 5.5 years old! Just yesterday she decided she also wanted to ride Indy, too. I told her there's no way she's tall enough for that. Sure enough, she'll have to grow 3 inches by 7/31.

I just can't wait to ride Space Mountain! When we went last year, it was closed for refurbishment, so I haven't ridden it since I was a kid!

Turtle Talk with Crush is inside the Disney Animation building at DCA... inside the "Animation Screening Room" theater.
Although the theater may have been renamed since One Man's Dream (the movie) moved out and Crush settled in. :confused3

When you enter the Animation building, Turtle Talk with Crush is to the right in the central lobby.

Don's miss the 3 different fun sections of the Sorcerors Workshop or the Animation Academy (where an 'animator' teahes you how to draw a Disney character) when inside the Disney Animation attraction either. I recommend them all! They are interactive and very well done. And fun for kids and adults that are fans of Disney characters and animation.

As for heights and ages... in my personal experience, just because a child may be tall enough by the Disney rules.. does not necessarily mean that they would mentally handle or should handle something like Indy or the Tower or Terror just because of their height or age.

Once a child has reached the required height.... then it's really time for the
parent(s) to ride the ride previously and then themselves decide if their child could handle those intense attractions... regardless of the kids height. If they are cool with their kid on something as intense as both of those attractions and the child is tall enough. That is super cool.

I'm just saying.. I have seen a lot of kids over the years (many adults too) that were more than tall enough... but really shouldn't have been riding certain attractions... yet.
But every parent knows their kids... knows what they can handle and their likes, dislikes and limits. :)

Have fun!
I absolutely love the Disneyland Resort! :thumbsup2

We usually walk thru OFF THE PAGE on our way to the TOWER OF TERROR into the Crush exhibit. It is definitely NOT to be missed....too cute!

I totally agree! Uncle Jimmy went on it last year, and I will be questioning him about this ride. I am thinking she will chicken out, anyway, but I may have to "help" her a little ;) There are so many other rides that are exciting and more age-appropriate. I'm sure we'll find something to do pirate: princess:

We just returned from DL and my twins age 5.3 both rode Space Mountain and Tower of Terror, not because I wanted them to but because they BEGGED me to let them go - which meant that "I" had to ride them. But they had done fine on all the previous rides so I felt confortable in letting them try these rides. If I didn't, I wouldn't have let them go.

They did much better than I did on both rides. My dh and my ds 10 are both very adventerous and my ds10 has been riding thrill rides since he was tall enough. It appears that my twins are taking after my dh and older brother. Because I would prefer to skip those rides and go for the Carousel and Peter Pan.

My dd5 wanted to ride the Tower of Terror and Space Mtn again but I told her once was enough (because I did not want to go again). My ds5 said he liked Tower but didn't want to do it again. However, he did want to do Space Mtg. Both said the rides made their tummy feel funny but neither one cried or got scared.

Both wanted to ride Indy, but they were not tall enough. Personally, I though Indy was more mild than Tower (IMO). So if your child is adventerous, they'll do fine on those rides.

What we did was start out with easy rides in Fantasyland and work our way up to the more difficult rides to make sure they did okay. We started with Fantasyland and then did ones like the Matterhorn, Star Tours, etc. And they did great. I wouldn't go straight for the thrill rides with a younger child - it could scare them enough that they won't want to ride any other rides (just depends on the child). Start out with the milder rides and work your way to the thrill ones. You as a parent will know what your child can and cannot do.

Have fun!!! Our family had a blast.

The Disney Animation building ended up being one of DD's (5.5) favorite things to do on the trip (her 4th trip to DL, 5 trips to WDW). She liked Crush, the animation class (we did Pooh, one of her favorites), she had a blast doing all of the interactive things in Beast's lair (the personality quiz to see what character you're like, acting or singing along with a Disney movie clip), and just enjoyed being in the main "theatre" with all of the clips playing. She actually asked to go back to this on our last day as one of her favorite last things to do.

Just wanted to add that one of my favorite non-rides at DCA is the main theatre area in the Animation Building. There are so many big screen projections, and they go through a whole montage of many Disney movies. If it's hot out, too crowded, or you're just a tad too tired to wander around a bit more, this non-ride is one of the best places to be. Oh, did I forget to mention the air conditioning? :)

I agree!! If I feel tired or if I'm starting to melt from the heat, I head over to Off the Page. I just kick back, relax and watch all the movie clips/frames on the big screens. Yes, they do have the best air conditioning! Feels great for escaping the summer heat. :thumbsup2
