Where is the post about best route from MCO to WDW?

Leave the airport north exit (436; Semoran Blvd) and go left at first light (Frontage). Little over a mile is next light (Conway); go left and left again to get on Toll 528 (Beach Line) west.

Watch for toll signs and take what looks like an exit ramp to pay the toll (about $1.) if using cash. Exact change not mandatory.

End of 528, take I-4 west (southwest). Disney exits will appear soon. Most folks will find the Epcot exit (Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Port Orleans, Boardwalk) the most convenient. After that comes the Osceola Pkwy exit (Animal Kingdom, All Stars, Pop Century) which looks the same.

So...you don't get on the B-line right away, to avoid the first toll?

I take B-line and I-4, but know others that like 417. 417 feel SLOW to me...especially when I didn't leave enough time to get to the airport ; )

We are a fan of 417. It seems like it's not used much by locals as the traffic seems to be all going to WDW. Never busy and easy to get from/to the airport from WDW.

We like this route too. Not much traffic. The GPS likes the northern one.

I always take the south exit to 417. I hate I-4 and the beeline seems to have more traffic also.

We prefer the 417 route also as it seems less stressful of a drive for some reason.

417 is a nice way to ease out of reality and into vacation. Low traffic, straight shot and a pleasant drive.

We like the 417 route also. And there are shopping plazas off some of the exits for quick stops at Target to pick up snacks and water.

How do you get to the 417 from the airport is there a sign? And is it 417 south?

For 417, follow the South exits from the airport. I too prefer this route, it's well worth the tolls to me because it seems much smoother, less traveled (when it's busy or there's a wreck, I-4 is what my version of hell looks like) and pretty quick to Disney property.

We also use 417. Super easy, no turns, no traffic, straight shot. The Target at the Orange Blossom Trail exit is very convenient. On the way back, the Hess station right before you get on the 417 ramp is convenient to fill up the rental car. Well worth the couple dollars in tolls IMHO (and since we go frequently we purchased a portable Sunpass transponder so the tolls are even easier/faster for us!).

The moment we hit the ground we feel like vacation has begun and driving the 417 continues that feel. It ramps up excitement (somewhat) right up to the Disney gates.
Going the north route, I feel like I'm driving to work (and for some reason I'm always late and my boss is going to throw a fit because the TPS reports arent done with the right cover sheet) so we almost never use it.
