You will get several different answers on this one but if you are looking for ts restaurants my favorite in MK is dinner at LTT and for MGM I like Sci-Fi.

Have fun!

In MGM we like Prime Time, but I will agree with pp that Sci-Fi is good too.
In MK we also like Liberty Tree, but would also recommend if you want a character meal to walk or monorail over to Contemporary for Chef Mickeys.
That is my kids favorite character meal. The great thing about MK is you can monorail to Grand Floridian (never ate there) or Polynisian, we have done luau, it is ok, or Ohana we always wanted to try but heard good things. You can boat to Wilderness Lodge and try Whispering Canyon which was good and
very fun if you like loud. Have a magical time.

If this is your first trip, I would definitelty suggest 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM. If you are willling to have fun and play along, this place is a hoot. While at MK, I would also suggest taking the monorail over to the Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's. It is very festive and fun and a must do for 1st timers. Have fun! :)

Hard to help w/o knowing if you have any particular dining preferences--but in a general way, I'm not fond of any restaurant in the MK. At MGM, Brown Derby is hard to beat--.

Sci-Fi at MGM is unique and great for a first timer.

At MK I would suggest Liberty Tree Tavern.

We are big fans of the 50's Prime Time Cafe at the Disney Studios. The servers seem to know who wants to play along and who doesn't so don't let their games sway you. Their food is very good and the portions large.
I agree with another poster that it's best to eat at one of the MK resorts rather than in the park. The Kona Cafe at the Polynesian is wonderful.
Go over to allearsnet.com....dining....menus for all menus for all WDW restaurants. You may want to check out the restaurants in the Epcot resort area (Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin). You can walk or boat to all of these from either the Disney Studios or the Epcot International Gateway.

In MK we love Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, Crystal Palace for breakfast, if you don't want to eat park in the lunch then we like Kona Cafe at the Poly. For dinner we would leave the park, possibly Kona Cafe at Poly.

At MGM, we are always pleased with 50's prime time or Sci Fi, no problems with either.

At the MGM we like the 50's PrimeTime Cafe for a sit down meal. You could also consider the restaurants at the Boardwalk and the YC/BC if you have the time. They are a short boat ride, or walk, away. Doing that would take up a fair amount of park time though.
At MK, I too would suggest taking the monorail to either Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, or 'OHana at the Polynesian. It would be fun to see the Disney resorts as well as eating, and the monorail ride is fun.
As a pp said, check out all of the menus in WDW at allearsnet.com, dining.
This will help you to see where you might like to eat. Always consider the resorts near a theme park as well as the theme park restaurants themselves.
By the way, Welcome to the DIS

Our favorite @ MK for TS is The Plaza.
Simple menu but wonderful and desserts are the best!

MGM TS would be 50's Prime Time for food.
for ambience and very basic food would be Sci-Fi.
