Where is the new Vacation Planner?

Didn't I read somewhere, someone said we will have the DVC Vacation Planner by the end of the year this year? Unlike the past 2 years, we will get it earlier this time... something like that. Now it is almost the end of the year, and I haven't got my copy yet.

Can DVC members elect to NOT receive the planner? I get all my information online and would prefer they save the printing cost, at least for me...

When I am comparing points for a few different resorts, I find it's easier to use the book. The web site is so slow and you have to keep entering the dates over and over when info is changed; just plain annoying for me. I like good old paper some times. I sure wouldn't want to plan a vacation without the computer though!

I got the new planner yesterday and was SO happy to see they just put the important information in it and dispensed with the same old, same old photos of the resorts. It's a lot less sales-y and therefore a thinner, "just the facts, ma'am" sort of book.

You can get PDF's of the same charts in the planner on the site too. I must admit, after paging through the planner it usually winds up in the trash.

It was reported that the point charts would to be mailed out first. Then the other information from the planner would be mailed at a later date.

If "it was reported" here on these boards, then I definitely missed it as I've had a bit of DVC board burn-out lately. But...UGH.

That's good to know! Now if we could just convince them to bring back the binders and pages it would be even better! I'm still not going to hold my breath on getting this newest planner before I have to make my first reservations, since that would be next week. It really doesn't matter though, because I do have the point charts, and that's really all I need.

Good point about the reservations. We've also made all our 2011 reservations already. All we needed was the points charts, too, which are on the Members' website. If they want to spend money, I'm sure there's a better use for the money than those Vacation Planners.

I wish they would print a calendar in the point chart. It would make planning so much easier for me. I have one from the dentist office that I keep with my 2011 point chart which works fine...but to have it printed in the point chart would be great!
