Where is the free popcorn?

I thought I read a post that mentioned instead of buying popcorn from outside the theatre you could get it for free somewhere else... We'll be on Magic

Concierge staterooms had it on the Fantasy.

Concierge on all ships. In bags when you order a DVD and also on movie night.

But Magic had it being made outside the Walt Disney Theatre maybe that is what is being referred to and there was a charge for it.

HI, we were on the magic and found it outside of the theater for a reasonable fee. I remember hearing about free popcorn as well but never found it. Enjoy your cruise

I never saw popcorn for free on the ship. It cost $3.50 at the concession stand outside the theaters.

There is a cabinet in the concierge lounge where bags of popcorn are stored. Those guests can either ask one of the hosts for some, or once they get to know you, just open up the door and help yourself.

That was one of my son's favorite things about staying in concierge was the free popcorn! We went through bags of it.

But the free stuff in the concierge lounge isn't the fresh made popcorn sold. DH and DS were pretty disappointed in their free popcorn.

(and for those wondering about the free popcorn, it's only available to those paying for concierge...so much for "free", right? )

And the smell will lure you in really quickly too!
We had a room on deck 5 and I was sucked into the smell of the fresh popcorn and I wasn't even hungry.

I don't think anything is free at the theater concession stands. So the charge probably goes along with the fact they charge for the rest of the snacks served there.

We got free drinks and snacks from the pool deck and took to the theater. No reason to pay (unless you just have to have popcorn) when it's free just a few decks away.

I am going on the Dream with my mother in September and staying concierge.
We are popcorn junkies. Sometimes popcorn is my dinner.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this information! I originally just thought from reading this thread, perhaps I'll have to order a DVD
even if I don't watch so I can order us popcorn but now I know we can just ask for it if we would like for the evenings or if we see a movie.

On day 1 at the movies buy the popcorn in the big plastic collectors cup. When empty, clean it out. Then you can use it at the drink station as a pitcher full of ice and/or your favorite soda/lemonade/tea. One guy saw me doing this and said "Why the hell didn't I think of that?".

I'd charge for popcorn just to prevent 100s of people helping themselves then dropping it in the theater. I can't eat the stuff without pieces falling here and there!

Tends to smell a lot though. Popcorn is a standard movie type snack.

I wouldnt do that as (1) There is so much food on the ship I can go the length of a show or movie without it, (2) consideration for fellow cruisers.

Its not your standard food, its an add on, like Cove Cafe coffee, you pay a small amount for an additional service. IE Soda in the Theatre costs, but is free at the self service station.
