I am wanting to upgrade my 3 day /get 1 free (so essentially 4day ph'er ticket) from UT to an AP and wanted to read up on the process, I can't locate Cheshire Figments sticky about ticket upgrades though!
My first day will be at DHS, am I right to assume I need to enter the park, then turn around and go to the GS window outside the turnstile to complete my upgrade?

It was unstickied, as it was getting out-of-date. The general rule of thumb is to use a ticket first, then upgrade it to whatever you need. There are Guest Relations inside all parks, no need to exit again.

Yep, Mesa's right. It's called "bridging" (though some CMs are unfamiliar with the term or call it something different) and can be done inside any of the parks (like Mesaboy said, make sure to use it to enter the park first) at Guest Relations there. The ones in the parks tend to have shorter lines as well than their out-of-park counterparts.

At DHS, the inside-the-park Guest Relations is just to your far left after you have come through the front ticket tap-stiles. It is in the same building as the outside-the-park Guest Relations, but
there is access inside the park.

See #9 on the map below.

You said a mouthful there. I waited 45 minutes in the noontime sun on Saturday waiting outside MK's gates to visit that GR. Miserable!

Thank you! I will try to do this once we arrive at DHS as I want to come back next Sept for another visit. This should be the most economical to get another 6 day tickets plus the icing will be AP perks :)

Maybe someone can answer me on this since it seems to be stumping all the cms? If I have a 4day park hopper water park and more ticket can I upgrade to a regular annual pass? What happens to the original water park days that were included? Can I use them or will that entitlement be null? And if I did use one would I no longer be eligible for the regular annual pass? If someone could answer any of this I would love it!

It's sad that the Ticket Sticky has been closed out. But I remember explicitly what was written about upgrading a MYW ticket that has the WP option to a regular AP. You can upgrade your PH+WP ticket to regular AP only IF you do not use any of the WP entries on your ticket.

If you DO use any WP entries on your ticket, you can only upgrade to Premium AP, which is $125 more than regular AP and includes same day entry to both water parks, and 9-hole Oak Trail Golf, plus the other perks and discounts of the WDW regular AP.

Whichever choice you make, be sure to use your discount-priced ticket FIRST to enter a theme park before doing your upgrade. That raises (bridges) the value of your ticket to Disney's current gate price for that ticket. Be sure the CM helping you gives you the correct credit for your ticket or move on (politely) to another CM. I have posted a link (below) to Disney's current gate prices. What you should owe is the difference in cost between the AP and Disney's gate price for your MYW ticket. Do the math before the upgrade, so that you know the price given to you is correct.

As mentioned, each theme park has a Guest Relations facility both inside and outside the entrance. Epcot also has a GR at the International Gateway entrance. There are also two GR facilities at DTD. Your new AP will have the same start date as the first day you used your MYW ticket. If another start date is printed (such as the date you purchased your MYW ticket), have that corrected. (It happens sometimes -- in error.)

There is an annual WP AP that you can purchase, but it doesn't include the Oak Trail Golf.

POOHsie's answer above is 100% correct.

One more detail to remember is that if you have a MYW ticket that does have the Water Parks Fun and More option,
and you do not use any of the WP&M visits before updating to a regular AP...
the MONEY that you paid for the WPF&M option is not lost.
You will be given credit in the upgrade for the full amount that you paid for the original ticket.
It's only that you will not have the ability to go to any of the WPF&M parks, unless you choose
to buy the Premium AP.

Did anyone ever hear what happened with Cheshire?

Mike (Cheshire Figment) finally did come back (after a long and unexplained absence) and posted individual posts several times on this board a few of months ago.

But, he has now not posted at all since July 1, over 2 months ago.

During the time of the Ticket Sticky, he used to PM me with updates regarding tickets so I could stay in sync with anything new.

But, now... nothing

I sure hope he's OK.

I hope he is okay. I often think about him and how he just fell off the radar for so long before. I missed his more recent posts.

My husband and I are taking my in-laws for a long weekend in November. He and I have annual passes but my in-laws do not. I have access to discount tickets through work, however, a two day ticket is not one of the options I get a discount on. Can I purchase the discounted one day ticket, use it to enter the park and then add a second day at GR inside the park? I figure Disney always wants my money but wanted to make sure there was no issue adding on days to a one day ticket. Thanks in advance!

There's two one-day tickets -- One Day MK ticket, Disney price $105 (plus tax = $111.83), and One Day EP-HS-AM ticket, Disney price $97 (plus tax = $103.31). The Two Day ticket for all parks is $192 (plus tax = $204.48). If you start with a One Day ticket, you will have to buy the one corresponding with the park you plan on entering. The Disney Two Day ticket works out to $96 per day (before tax). If you think you can beat that, OK. Possibly you could just purchase two One Day tickets at the discount price, keeping in mind, of course -- purchasing the correct tickets for the parks you're entering.

There's not really too many discounts out there for one and two day Disney tickets. Here's Disney's current ticket price list:
