Where is the best place to view fireworks from?

Me and my wife are going down Dec 9-15. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and know fireworks are not visible from there. Even though we are not staying at the Contemporary Resort can we still go there and watch the fireworks from the MK or do you have to be a quest there?? Thanks

Yes, there's a viewing platform on the main concourse level that's open to the public. It's at the opposite end of the building from Chef Mickey's; just walk in the opposite direction from CMs, you'll see a door under where the monorail beam enters the building.

Much better views can be had if you dine at California Grill, but you do need a reservation at the restaurant to get to the viewing platform up there.

I know you asked about the Contemporary Resort and Lynne answered your question quote well. You mentioned that you are looking into booking a reservation at the California Grill. Great choice. If you do and your reservation is not during the fireworks you will be allowed to come back and take the express elevator back up to view them from their own viewing area. My favorite place to watch the MK fireworks from is the Polynesian Resort. I like to go down to the beach by the main resort pool and watch the fireworks from across Seven Seas Lagoon. This way you can watch the fireworks behind the castle and the music is piped in for your enjoyment. When you see the fireworks from the 4th floor viewing area at the Contemporary it is a completely different experience. Whichever place you choose enjoy the view and the Magic of the Disney fireworks! There are also Fireworks Boat rides offered as well like the Pirate and Pals Fireworks Voyage (great for all ages) that can be booked through your travel agent or calling Disney direct. Enjoy

I read the touring plans blog last night that advocated watching from the TTC, somewhere near the ferry dock. I think we'll try that location on one of the nights we're there. I have to admit, the photo looked great!

I never thought about the Polynesian Resort,Thanks. We are very excited about going back. We went the beginning of August last year for our honeymoon and have been looking into this trip ever since. Last time we were at the MK waiting for the fireworks when it was announced that weather was an issue and the show would be pushed back 45 min or so. We decided to head back to our hotel and as we where leaving the parking lot they started, so my wife was upset we didnt get to see them very well. Thanks for the great locations. The beach idea sounds great!
