I kind of hate how certain bars get bad reps if they don't follow the stereotypical "young-and-pretty" trend. That happens here a lot. I've heard several "young-and-pretty" types put down certain bars simply because their main clientele have an average age of 35 and over........and some of these bars are really great in my opinion. But we're in an age now where "young-and-pretty" is all that matters. One of the "YAP" bars down the street from me often has guys 50-55 who have obviously had surgery done, and are dressed in clothes that most 17 or 18 year-olds couldn't even pull off......and they do it so they can be "in","trendy" and young-looking. A few doors down from there there's another bar where you're lucky to get service if you weigh over 200 pounds. I even heard one of the ditzy waiters that works there say this about someone who tried to talk to him at one of the bars he considered being trashy: "Oh my gawwwwd! This guy was, like, at LEAST 200 pounds. Sick. That place makes me sick." I was entirely offended because not only did I go to that bar, but
I weigh over 200 pounds!
And then there's the whole speculation and hearsay thing that drives me nuts. (In one of the performance organizations I'm a member of I had a few people come up to me and tell me that they thought I was being snobbish and they believed I thought I was better than they were because I tend to not say much when in the group. That's when I informed them that I had mild autism........and that you learn more from listening than you do from talking all the time.

) I've heard horrible reviews for restaurants that I wind up going to and loving, and vice versa. I guess you just have to experience something for yourself before any conclusions can be drawn.
Okay.....I'm done yammering now.
