Where is my FAVORITE DCL cast member?

Steven do you happen to know Lloyd who is the DCL hotel and dining manager? We have seen him on various ships for years and then last summer on the Fantasy he was a manager. My husband was hoping to contact him. Are the same servers in palo for brunch and dinner? Thanks

Yes, Donna and I know Lloyd Machado quite well. He was one of our servers on the Magic in 1999. He was promoted to Hotel Director of the Fantasy in late 2012, effective January 2013. Technically, Hotel Director oversees Hotel, Restaurant, Housekeeping, and (I believe) art galleries. He is the Director ... with Hotel Manager, Restaurant Manager (etc) reporting to him.

For the most part, the Fantasy is Lloyd's ship ... with Handsome Daniel filling in for him while on vacation. When Lloyd is at sea, Handsome Daniel remains on land ... neither are scheduled to rotate to other ships, or other positions.

Palo Servers: The answer is yes, but not always! Since much of brunch is self-serve, the number of servers required is fewer, and hence, reduced. Scheduling someone to work at brunch is dependent upon required time off between shifts, melding that with whether or not a server has been rewarded with time off of the ship (in port). You are still able to request a Palo server for Brunch ... and I usually suggest following up with Palo personnel on embarkation day (in case your server is not scheduled to work during Brunch).

(Handsome) Daniel was on the Wonder in January; it was right before the drydock, though, so perhaps he was there to assist with that.

Jessica (from Sweden) was our server on the Wonder on 2010. Is she still with DCL? She was AMAZING!!

Thank you Steven for starting this thread and all of the wonderful info you (and subsequent posters!) have shared.

We will be taking out fifth Disney cruise in 7 short weeks aboard the Fantasy. I know that a great service team can enhance the overall cruise experience so I'm definitely making a request this time!

I'm trying to decide between Steven's two MDR favorites, Rado and Zsolt, for my first request. Can anybody help me decide which one may have more to offer for families with small kids. We enjoy the servers who engage with them, maybe do some of the brain teasers, etc. Of course, attentive service is also of paramount importance. I know the preferred style of service can be very subjective, for instance, a couple cruising sans kids would not really care about a server that could/would do the puzzles and teasers whereas a family with antsy children would really appreciate that!

So any input on this would be really appreciated :)

Thanks in advance popcorn::

Where is CD Christian these days? He was on my first Disney Cruise back in 2012 and was awesome, had a 20 minute chat with him in diversions one night while watching hockey.

Anyone recently on the Wonder know if JD (aka Jelly Donut) is still on board on the cruise staff?

don't know about Christiann, but JD is still on Wonder as Club Host till beginning of March. Talk with him on Facebook

Christiaan was on the Dream the 16-20. Not sure if his vacation started as he was not making the "cleared to go ashore" announcements like I remember he did in July. He is great!

We have only had Rado and although we had no small children he did magic tricks and puzzles. He was extremely attentive

Steven, are you in contact with Lloyd? My husband would like to find out if he will be onboard in June

Thanks Beth, I really appreciate the feedback - think I'll just request Rado at this point, cruise is 6 weeks away :goodvibes

Does anyone know if Goran from Croatia is still on the Disney Fantasy? He has worked the two cruises we have been on and wanted to request him if he is still on the Fantasy.

That's interesting because Lloyd was Hotel Director on the Dream during our Nov 2012 cruise. It was our second time on the Dream and we spoke with him both cruises. He is super nice!! He must have been on vacation when we were on the Fantasy last year because I am fairly certain he wasn't onboard. One of the officers I spoke with told me he was in charge of overseeing all the restaurants and the quick service type things such as Flo's. I don't remember what else he told me he oversaw but it wasn't the 'hotel (cabins) section' of the ship. He was so funny. We were joking around about beverages and I was giving him a hard time about how I was tired of coke and sprite...they needed some different soda choices. The next day we found cans of ginger ale had been left in our room...compliments of that officer! :)

Anyone know if Clayton is still on the Fantasy? I was so excited to see this! We loved him on the Dream in Feb '13 and our cruise is in august so who know,s but it'd be so great to see him again. Our son loved him!

Yes he is as of last week! Still doing the "Carlton" vacation dance. He's a hoot.

December 8, 2012 western Fantasy cruise - Igor and Marlan MDR servers. Marlan was from the Philippines (2012 was her first Christmas away from home). I can't remember where Igor was from but Serbia sticks out in my mind. He'd been working cruise ships for 15 years. They were AWESOME!! Very attentive and personable. We actually saw Igor at least twice a day - seemed he was working wherever we chose to breakfast. Would love to know if either of them is still aboard the Fantasy as we sail again 5/31/14.

also, Lazlo in the spa was amazing for the hot stone massage. I know he was on board until may 2013.

Any info anyone could provide would be appreciated. While I tend to keep too much I cannot find last names for these folks.

We just had Marlan as an asst. server with Roque (India) on the Fantasy last week. Her name shows in our list as Mar Ore, though not sure if that's helpful. She did say she would be onboard for awhile. HTH.

Thank you! It helps a ton as I can't find my server info !

Hilash on the Magic is amazing. He's a server, sailed on the Med for 11nights in 2011, and sailed again in 2013 and he remembered us straight away, and was just as nice as our first experience. Also Rajo, was a server in Palo on the Magic, now works in Remy's on the Fantasy, sooooooo nice, could not have been more helpful!

Hilash was my server on my Magic cruise from NYC. LOVED HIM!!!!!!!!

We had a great team on the Magic last year, Genesis & Wayan.... does anyone know them? Are they still onboard the Magic? We will be sailing on the Magic later this year (August) and I would like to request them if possible. They were SO good with my little one!!

I love Genesis!!!!!!! He was my server when we sailed the Magic in March 2011. BEST. SERVER. EVER!!!!!! Want to hear how good he is? I sailed with Genesis in March 2011. In August 2012, we did a Magic cruise from NYC and had no idea we could request servers! We ended up getting Hilash, who was great! But while we were eating dinner in Lumiere's, all of the wait staff was marching around the restaurant. Genesis sees us, runs up to us, hugs both hubby and I and said, "How is your mom? Where are the kids?"! After a year and a half, not only did he remember us, but he remembered our whole family who wasn't even with us this trip. After a year and a half!!! What an AMAZING memory!!! I recommend him to EVERYONE. :thumbsup2
