I really like the look of your room. Very fresh and relaxing vibe.

I was surprised how much I liked my room on this trip. I am always stressed about the location before I get there because I never seem to get my choice. This wasn’t my choice but it was awesome!

I need you to teach me the “hack” so I can lower our room temperature on my next trip. We can never get our room cool enough.

I found it on YouTube and it actually worked. The value and mod resorts only go down to 68 and this hack allows you to put it down to 65 if needed.

The Skyliner makes CBR more of a contender for my family as they boys don’t enjoy bus rides so much.

Definitely and the price is usually pretty good even with the Skyliner transportation

You know it’s been a great day when you can’t find any lowlights.

It really was. I keep thinking about this trip and probably one of my favorites!

I love Les Halles. Although I am now usually stuck on just getting a baguette. I might be drooling a little just thinking about it.

My love affair grew with several more treats on my last day, just wow!

You had a great afternoon at Epcot. I think you did more in the afternoon than I did on both of my visits in total!!! LOL.

Haha It was fun. I tried to slow down but honestly I can’t do it! I need to take it all in and instead the competitive me comes out and I have to do as much as possible. I’m getting older so soon I will slow down!

I'd do that just for the caffeine fix, but would want a coffee along the way somewhere too. Anything but room coffee though! (Of food court coffee!)

Why is the coffee so bad? I did enjoy the tea a couple days but I have been buying cold brew and creamer every trip now and I can’t be without it now!

Me too; theming probably and then hospitality.

Very true the theming and the magic captures me every.single.trip!!

I've not spent a lot of time there, but have loved the times I have. I could be up for a coffee stop in October.

A Riviera trip is a must for us and with free dining maybe want to do the Topolinos breakfast? I wonder if it is considered 1 table service credit, if so I would love it and the almond cold brew would be in the plan as well!

Ours did too when when we stayed there. I actually really love this resort. AS LONG AS YOU"RE NEAR the SKYLINER!

Why I’ve never considered staying there

It is huge but honestly not bad if you don’t need to go to the main building every day

Hooper drives the boat Chief!

I had a restful and quiet night of sleep! My room was nice and cool and very quiet. I did not hear a thing other than the aircon! It was not overly noisy more like a white noise.

My plan today was to head over to Universal! I had a few things on my agenda!

I wanted to get my AP magnet and check out the merchandise for the movie Jaws 50th anniversary!

I had a breakfast bar and banana before ordering a Lyft.

I love that you can pick your building parking lot at CBR now and do not have to walk to the main building for the Lyft.

Here is a pro tip-If you are going to Universal from Disney, have your Lyft bring you to one of the premier resorts, preferably Hard Rock or Royal Pacific for a drop off. This is much less crowded than being dropped off at Citywalk.

I was dropped off at Hard Rock, I went into the hotel and picked up a strawberry açaí refresher from Starbucks in the resort before getting on the pathway to the parks.

The walk is really short from HR and the security is way less busy than the Citywalk area. I was the only one at security this morning. I had made such good time this morning I was to early for Universal so I headed over to Islands since it opened an hour earlier than Universal.

It was still the extra hour for resort guests and AP holders so I headed in. I walked towards HP with the masses. I had a simple plan get on the Hogsmeade Express right at 9am and head over to Universal. I had perfect timing, the line opened right when I arrived.

I met a really nice couple celebrating their honeymoon! This was their first visit to the parks so I gave them some pointers! They were total HP lovers and I know the HP world here! We shared a train car and they were loving it.

I had a wonderful train ride and headed out into Universal.

I love the Diagon Alley area, it is my favorite of the two HP worlds. I watched for Kreacher and also checked out the Knight bus before moving on to Amity. Well, the few nods left to Amity. Did you know Diagon Alley is where the beach town of Amity and the Jaws ride were before it closed to make room for HP world.

I started my hunt for sharks and I was pleased to find many! “Shark, shark in the pond” “you boys okay over there?” Oh no the guy saying that gets his leg bit off by the shark in the pond! Oh how I love the movie Jaws! If you want to get in a Jaws quoting match with me-you will definitely lose haha

I am enjoying my time in Amity despite a massive great white out there!




I started my merchandise hunt! Andi wanted a Jaws tshirt and hat. I started checking out all the cool merchandise as I walked to the store with the AP magnets

This is the shirt and bucket hat Andi wanted, we both have very small heads like kid size hats fit us better so she was really happy the Jaws bucket hat had a chin strap and it is reversible!

I made it to the AP store only to be gut punched with disappointment! The Jaws AP magnets all gone, what?

The TM was very nice and told me to check back in June, umm, I live in Minnesota so no I can’t do that! Boo

No magnets for me!

I needed a drink after this! “Should you do that?” Yes, I can do anything I am the Chief of Police” another great line from Jaws.


I went to the Alcatraz bar to order a drink in the Jaws souvenir cup that Andi was coveting!

I ordered a margarita and the bartender was awesome and wow he made me a strong one! I continued on my shark hunt while I drank my margarita!

I did decide to go back into Diagon Alley to look around and order my favorite treat. The butter beer ice cream.

This is delicious and hit the spot as the heat was rising outside.

After my treats, I headed to ET for a nice aircon break and a wonderful ride!


One thing I noticed at Universal was it was cold in the inside attractions like it should be. Disney not so much!

After ET it was crucial to continue shark hunting!

I went into the AP merchandise shop and found another long sleeve tee for me at 60% off and a pair of shorts. I only paid $30 for both items. Universal really has some good deep discounts for their AP holders.

It was now time to try the “chum bucket” at the special Jaws food booth. This was fried shrimp, clams and oysters with French fries and a siracha cocktail sauce. This was just okay, today was the first day and I think they were working out the kinks. The shrimp and clam strips were very good. I found out fried oysters not for me and unfortunately the fries were a little hard still, not quite done. I also was not a fan of the cocktail sauce. I am more of a tartar sauce person.

I finished my little lunch and worked my way out of the park and back to the HR hotel to get my Lyft back to CBR.

Highlights-Jaws, Jaws, and more Jaws, ET, great discounts for AP, fun bartender, delicious margarita in a souvenir cup, butter beer ice cream, low crowds, and TM interactions!

A few lowlights- No AP magnet and so so chum bucket.
