High school coaches. DD's indoor track coach is a moron. DD wants to do the sprints and one event is the 55m dash. The coach has been timing the runners who want to do that event all week. You can only enter 6 runners in this event. I figured he would enter the fastest 6. Makes sense right? DD had the second fastest time, second to a senior. Nope he had sign ups and started with seniors and then juniors, sophomores and freshmen last. Of course she didn't get in. So 5 of the 6 are slower than her by a lot. I don't get it. Also in order to run in the state meet you have to qualify and the runners in the event except one girl don't come close to the qualifying time and there are only 4 meets.

That makes me F-U-R-I-O-U-S! They're not putting the "good of the school" before the "individual performer". It's obvious your DD deserved to be one of the 6 runners..."numbers (times) don't lie" but looks like they figure "upper classmen" have "earned the right". I DON'T THINK SO...it's apparent your daughter worked a little harder than they did. Wish I could "introduce" our high school volleyball coach to them. She picks the TOP girls no matter what class they're in. The students have to earn it but when they do they're rewarded. Hugs to her...and YOU!

Was so nice to "get off the holiday preparation treadmill" for an hour this evening and enjoy Little Bit and her classmates in their Christmas program. First they sing....

...then the "little elf" (I LOVE the elf ears) helps tell the story of Santa "saving Christmas at the O K Corral" ...

Photobucket was doing funny things it was putting pages of one album into another. I got out and signed back in and it was ok again. Just strange.

I know. I thought high school sports was about winning especially VARSITY. There are a lot of coaches at the school like this coach. The school Athletic Director is an idiot and has absolutely no clue! what a good coach is.

That's to bad but, sad to say, it happens everywhere. I'd be willing to bet Redstorm will have the same problems in SOME sports in a couple of years. Right now we're in a "good spot" with a majority of coaches but who knows what the future will bring. That's the bad thing for us; we're a small school and the "good coaches" get offers for "bigger and better things". I DO know the volleyball coach will still be around...she's been here 30+ years and has over 1,000 victories.

So cute I miss that age and all the Christmas shows and concerts.

We're enjoying it knowing it will probably be our last chance. Time goes by SO fast....
