Where in the World #4

From a Cat 3 Hurricane in 2004. These were taken very close to the eye coming overhead. To the side of where i am standing was my lounge chair. I enjoy watching this kind of weather. When the eye passed over and wind changed directions my butt was inside :thumbsup2

Awesome shots! :thumbsup2 Those "eyes" are tricky; (I'm really going to date myself here :rotfl2: I think I was around 10 at the time) our entire family stayed at my Grandpa & Grandma's house during Hurricane Carla. They lived in "a valley" as opposed to our home, and my Aunt & Uncle's, on top of hills. During the first part of Carla, Grandpa's barn door blew open. He just COULDN'T let his hay get wet  so my Daddy and Uncle had to go repair it during the eye. Well, they got caught and literally had to crawl back to the house when it came "back from the other direction. That was one powerful storm...we're probably about 300 miles from the coast!

Our biggest "modern day" nightmare was during Hurricane Rita. Not from the storm (we did not get a drop of rain!) but from the evacuees! :scared1: It was only a few weeks after Hurricane Katrina and the Houston area panicked. Instead of leaving by zip code everyone left at once bringing outgoing traffic to a halt. There was literally a traffic jam from Houston to our area (75 miles away). We have a 2 lane State highway running through our town; that afternoon we had 3 lanes of traffic going from south to north. It was hot, no gas, limited water available, grocery shelves were empty and tempers were VERY short. DH, as a member of Emergency Management even had to "show his concealed weapon" a couple of times with the statement, "Don't make me use this to haul you to jail"! :scared1: I helped out where needed; everything from marriage counseling to dog treat provider! :lmao: Natural disasters bring out the best (as in you removing your neighbors tree) and the worst of humans. Thanks for the photos; post more if you have them! :tink:

Is it in HS?

No, my picture is not from HS. Awesome hurricane pictures. Sure glad I don't live there!!

WOW:scared: Looks pretty scary.

Not in a park nor is it part an attraction.

DTD? Is it part of a shop or restaurant?
