Is it the area between Spaceship Earth and the fountain?

It is not between SE and the fountain. It is on the incline in to Spaceship Earth. I am now thinking the concrete is the same color behind it.

i wish i could just to go to disney on a whim, instread of planning a trip a few months head of time instread of just getting in a car and drive there in a few hours

Come move on down. You will have to put up with the occasional hurricane, 10 1/2 months of summer weather, some wicked afternoon thunder storms during the rainy season we will be getting in to soon and no snow although it did snow all the way down to miami once in 1976 or 1977.

And if you are into motorsports we race year round.

I'd be saying more than "what a bummer"! ... and what I'd be saying couldn't be printed on Disboards!
Don't spend a whole lot of time getting photos for a photo hunt for me 'cause I'm not 100% sure I'll be there! DH and I are weighing a "week alone"; fishing trip for him and some beach time for me over spending a week in 100+ heat/humidity with a soccer team consisting of 9-10-11-12 year old young ladies! Given those choices, what would YOU do? Still keeping our options open but no final decision yet.
How exciting, getting to shoot your friends DGD's soccer team! Hey...just had an idea...how about YOU go shoot MY DGD's soccer team too and I'll go sit on my favorite Texas beach?

I would probably go the other direction too. If I don't make a hunt I will have plenty of pics for here.

After the last couple of years of mid 90's to 110 days for like 4 months straight thought you would be used to the heat

My friend will have to see if she will be able to get time off from her work to go up.

Heck if I am not still working my days off in 2 months I would come up and shoot your DGD team too. I am getting back to any reason to go back to the world. One time in the 80's when I was married my wife called from the poly and said that the car battery had died. I drove the 2 hours to jump start it. Of course it was acouple of days before we got back home..hehehe

And there are all of the reasons I live as far away from Florida as I can get and still be in the USA. I can't take the heat and humidity!

I was thinking that too; Goopy already has all of the horrible aspects of Florida living in Texas - she might as well live in Florida! You notice Jeep, Diane and I all live way north of the Mason-Dixon line

That was one expensive dead battery! Good story though. I probably would have done the same thing!

...but you don't have the Dallas Cowboys! Texas football and close family ties keep us in Texas but don't think we haven't considered a move to your fair state, especially with retirement looming in our future! It seems, as we enter our "second childhood", we all "look for a reason" to get back to DW. Heck, I'd have "forgotten the battery cables" on that quick trip to the Poly!

So, can we consider your bird photo "solved"? I've been so busy, following advice and "looking up" at DW, I haven't paid much attention to the ground lately!

You are right SunDial, it is NOT over a doorway. It is over something but, not a doorway.

And yes, if you were standing at the fountain, looking at the Eiffel Tower, it would be on your left.
