Allie got a surprise last night she wasn't expecting for at least a year. Her phone rang at 10:15 pm; it was the Editor of our local newspaper and the bearer of good news after the Bellville High School Athletic Boosters meeting. She was being inducted in the BELLVILLE HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS HALL OF FAME! Eligibility begins the spring after an athlete graduates from college but "normal waiting period" is 7-10 years after high school graduation. She will join the State Tennis Champions in 2018 as 1 of 3 of the youngest inductees and the first BHS soccer player to earn the honor! Super excited; we knew she'd eventually be inducted after her record breaking 4 years but never dreamed it would happen so fast. Spent the evening "in memories" looking for the picture for the Press Release and induction plaque. So many memories to choose from!

Even the "mud game", the "broken wrist in the first half but didn't tell the Coach until the game was over" and the tears when her upper classmen best friends played their last game:

That’s awesome. Our schools are at least 10 years. Most of them are way more than 10. She must be so excited.

I literally DANCED after her phone call and we could "hear" her smiling over the phone! The excitement in her voice was priceless. It's SO special to the "soccer community" since it's not the "sport of choice" for athletes at BHS....and especially to the one coach she had a LOT of issues with on the volleyball team. It will give her great pleasure to be on that stage with that coach (she'll be seated on stage as the Woman Athletic Director) and accept that award for SOCCER! David and I were just hoping we'd still be alive when it happened so, for it to happen the first year of eligibility was a total surprise for us all! The other 3 inductees range from ages 28-70+! Going through photos again this evening; really hoping she decides to go with the "professional" photos like these but can understand why she wants "action shots" so we'll keeping looking...
