It was -15 on my way to work and at one point it hit -17.

OH MY GOODNESS! That IS "artic chill"! How do you keep your feet and hands warm???? Makes my hands hurt just thinking about it! Just visited with one of my sweet neighbors (he graduated with Katie) and we both agreed while we've enjoyed the past few days we're not sure how we'd survive it ALL the time. But he's just like me...we both HATE summers in Texas and would much rather deal with the colder temperatures than 100+ degrees with 96% humidity! Now I'm not so sure ... -17 is a little more than I want to experience!

That's EXACTLY how Amanda is! When they visit Colorado in the winter bringing a coat is almost an afterthought. She is LOVING this!

Well I've had an interesting day! 3+ hours in the dentist chair and very painful tooth extractions! Mouth was so numb I couldn't even tell the pharmacy my name to pick up my prescriptions...had to write it down! David had soup ready for me when I got home and during dinner Katie called. "Mimi...I'm at the dance studio and we've gone into lock down; prisoner has escaped from the hospital ER...make sure Pappy has his truck keys and locked the doors and your house doors are locked!" We live 2 blocks from the hospital so it didn't take long to hear DPS helicopter complete with search light; numerous police cars with red and blue lights on our street; police officer and dogs in our yards; phone was "blowing up" with text and Facebook messages from neighbors...and Sara checking on us! As of midnight he was still at large! HOPING he's moved on by now...they've released his name and picture and guessing he's on his way to the Border with Mexico by now!

He's still on the run ; pretty sure he's out of the area by now unless he had friends here in Bellville that would hide him; if he did I'm guessing police will have figured that out by now and investigated. Guessing he had someone waiting in vicinity to pick him up and, like I said, he's on the way back to Mexico by now. Still keeping everything locked up just in case though! It's always "double scary" when it happens at night!

32 at AK? WOW ! I guess Jeff will get the cooler Florida weather after all. Haven't heard from Allie but you made me curious; probably pretty close to freezing in Melbourne too. Bet Nick and Molly weren't expecting those temperatures! Brrrr! Wonder if any of the animals on the safari are out. Sara said on their last trip it was in the low 40's the morning they were at the AK and there were more animals out on the Safari than they'd ever seen!
