DONE with "obligations" for the year! Papers signed; grocery shopping done; gifts bought...now it's time to get baking done, prepare for Christmas lunch, finish Christmas cards and wrap gifts. Love this time of the year! NOW...if we could just get some cooler weather! 80 degrees today and Christmas Day predicted high is 78 ...UGH!

I'm just so frustrated with it here; almost 80 degrees is just to warm, in my mind, for Christmas! We'll have to set AC down to 65 to make it feel seasonal in the house! At least, so far, you're not buried in snow! 40's-50's around here would be perfect. Small cool front today with low of 39 tonight but "warm up" again starting tomorrow. Hope the prediction is wrong. Sara sent a picture last night of Allie and her high school best friend in Las Vegas...in sweatshirts and jackets! Told her I was SO jealous. Hope it just stays cold for you and no snow storms next week!

Not accomplishing much yet today ; been watching the State Playoff football games all day! Three smaller school teams from our area are in the State games for their classifications. One lost by 14 points; another won in a CLASSIC, 30-28, in THREE OT's and the last one is playing now and kicking b***! It's 34-7 at half-time. So happy for them; nearest to Bellville and we've played them since I was in high school! Head coach is a former NFL player for the Bills who, in fact Diane, sacked Tom Brady when he was with the Pats more than any other defensive player! His son is QB and nephew is outstanding on defense. Memories for us too; our game was a year ago tomorrow.

Coach is Matt Schobel; he's one of (I think) 3 brothers in the Schobel family that played pro-football. John & Bo are his brothers. Their family owns Schobel's Restaurant in Columbus...AWESOME family restaurant famous all over Texas. Treavor's office is right across the street from it. They won 48-14, dethroning the 2023 State Champions, Malakoff. John Schobel is also on the coaching staff, his son was named Defensive Player of the Game; Matt's son was named Offensive Player of the Game. Pretty cook family connections and they're all really nice people and active in the community. They both signed to play college ball at Texas Christian University.
