My dishwasher died a slow death over the weekend ; Lowe's and Home Depot had almost NOTHING in stock since I refused to pay $1,000 for a dishwasher! David found one at a reasonable price at a small furniture store in Hempstead so I went over this morning to look at it. Ended up with an upgrade but I really liked the "3 drawer" one AND decided to purchase a new kitchen stove too since my oven is not cooperating with me since it sat in the garage this summer. But....added nice surprise that reminded me of "Disney". The Union Pacific's actual steam engine is on tour this summer and it had a scheduled stop in Hempstead just 15 minutes after I finished paying for the new appliances! Since we haven't heard the steam engine in DW for 3 YEARS I decided to hang around. SO cool! I'm going to post a short video from my phone so it will PROBABLY BE SIDEWAYS but sure sounds like we're standing on Main Street!

I was lucky I got my dishwasher on Black Friday and got it for half price. I bought it a while ago and love it so hopefully it doesn't stop working anytime soon. Glad you won't have to wait for your appliances, I hear it can be up to 6 months for appliances.

Devastating news this afternoon for our community. 34 year old former football "star" (knew his family through band; his older brother was a member and his Mom and Dad helped me A LOT when I was Booster President) passed away IN HIS SLEEP last night! He was currently coaching Jr. High football and the father of an adorable 6 year old little girl. I can't imagine.....

That's so sad. Do they know what happened?

Oh good grief. I'll probably get it faster if I drove to Texas.
They had one recliner in the store of the one I wanted but it was a gross shade of brown and I did not want that. The sofa I wanted had the floor model in the color I wanted but they don't sell the floor models. We bought a Lazy Boy not sure if that's why it's so long.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??? I told Mr. Newcomb about your problem today while checking out...he couldn't believe it! I wonder if he's ship to NH?

Not a clue yet; Treavor got a message in his Golf Group. It's not like he wasn't "in good shape"; had to be some unknown heart condition or something. So sad.

That's why I bought the stove today too. My oven takes an extra 15-20 minutes to preheat to needed temperature and I just couldn't see waiting 6 months for a new one WHEN the old one goes out. Both appliances were marked $800 and Mr. Newcomb gave me a $50 credit just because so that paid for the taxes. Neither one of the girls could believe it! They laughed and said they're "slowly dragging me into the 21st century"!

That's why I bought the stove today too. My oven takes an extra 15-20 minutes to preheat to needed temperature and I just couldn't see waiting 6 months for a new one WHEN the old one goes out. At least my burners still worked properly! Not sure how old this one was....don't think it was 23 years though. YOU needed a new one!
