AK? Rivers of Light?

Will she be able to come home at all or does she have to wait until Thanksgiving?

She made BOTH Elite Teams she tried out for during tryouts today plus all the "regular classes"....TAP (SO glad she's taking tap again!), contemporary, modern, hip hop and musical theater. She was really worried about the Elite Teams; they had about 6 "new girls" try out from the Brenham and Waller dance teams....one is a Captain of the team! They only take 6 girls for each group and she was so afraid she'd score "#7"! Huge relief for her...but now she has 8 HOURS of choreography classes tomorrow
; 4 hours for each group! THEN it was on to the Cap Ceremony for the Brahmadora's. Really pretty evening at a beautiful farm in the country...everyone looked so pretty! They received their hats and took the Brahmadora Oath before snacks and swimming. Needless to say...Katie opted to SKIP the swimming and go home...bless her heart, she's exhausted!

FW? Inside?
The Little League team from NH won regionals and are heading to the Little League World Series. Most of the team go to the middle school I worked at. Their games this weekend were televised and it was cool to watch the kids I saw everyday.

Awesome! There was a team a few years ago from Washington County that played in the Little League World Series. It is fun to watch people you know in those games! My Godson played in the College World Series for Rice a couple years; THAT was super awesome. A "not so happy" story about the Little League though; a team to our south, Needville, played at the South Regional Tournament. The won their first game like 13-0 but the next day an assistant coach (who wasn't even AT the game the day before) tested positive for Covid. The officials then declared the entire team ineligible to compete even though the boys on the team and the Head Coach were all negative. They protested but to no avail, they were sent home. As I understand the parents are suing the Little League!

I have not been watching the new or anything lately
are the number down south getting that bad again it seem like you guys know a lot of people lately testing positive I assume its because of the new delta variant?
are numbers are getting a bit high too but we still have all the mandates in place
Very frustrating....
Especially when it took some friends of ours an entire WEEK to get across the US/Canada border to continue their motorcycle trip! By the time they got their negative test results the "test within 72 hours rule" had expired so they had to drive back to Spokane and get a rapid result test (and pay for that) and then wait in line at the crossing only to be told some office that needed to okay their entrance was closed for the day....and so on and so on!
They said it was a REAL challenge to get that crossing accomplished!
Wow that stinks for the team. They must have been heartbroken to make it all that way and have that happen. I hope the parents win the lawsuit.

The Seas?
spaceship earth
This is from the Living Seas; now tell me what/where it is.

The Union Pacific's actual steam engine is on tour this summer and it had a scheduled stop in Hempstead just 15 minutes after I finished paying for the new appliances! Since we haven't heard the steam engine in DW for 3 YEARS I decided to hang around. SO cool!
