Just got a message from our nephew in Katy; house okay and they can get to a grocery store but that's it. No other way to get out of their area. One of DD's friends has bags packed but hoping they can stay. One of my band kids had to be taken from his home via boat today. Niece's husband from Dallas area has just been called to leave ASAP for the Conroe area for rescue operations. Harris County Sheriff's Dept. called for additional help late this afternoon; he'd been briefed earlier today and was ready to leave. All Texas National Guard has been called out. So far in the Houston area there are 30,000 "displaced"; City of Houston 911 normally receives 8,000 calls per day...today they received 75,000! :faint: :tink:

WOW:eek: that's so much water.

This is from a ride in the MK. It's not from Fantasyland or from Adventureland :)

It is etched in what I assume is concrete. It's not on a wall or on the ground or on a planter or a fountain or a rock. It is on something but not something you would need.

I just saw this on my local news as one of the not true pictures going around on Faceboobook. And that airport with the planes in the water is how New York would look with global warming and Obama is not working at a soup kitchen in Texas.

Splash Mountain?

As I sit on my front porch and look out at the highway I have never seen so many trucks boats ,airboats, Texas rangers, Coast Guard police, Power company vehicles go by on 1094 its so overwhelming .. Praying

Something in the Train Station?

:lmao: Just spent 15 minutes on Facebook trying to calm down one of my younger friends! :lmao: She's trying to go to sleep and heard a LOT of helicopters flying over...flying in groups...enormous noise and she was freaking out. :rolleyes1 (Can you tell we're a little "on edge" here?) Told her it was most likely the National Guard helicopters since Gov. Abbott deployed the entire Texas National Guard today. They were probably moving their helicopters in position from somewhere north of us so they'd be ready to go as in the Houston/Rosenberg/Katy area tomorrow morning. Poor kid...she's been at our church volunteering all day (there's a Red Cross shelter in our church) and she's exhausted. :faint: :tink:

WHEW :faint:...what a morning. Niece's husband left Dallas last night with a canine rescue group; son-in-law and his brother left this morning with a boat for the Katy area for rescue work. They just got assigned a neighborhood and are on their way in right now for rescues. On one of my trips back from our church met 3 trucks pulling boats on our street alone...all headed for rescue work. Urgent call put out by our pastor this morning for soft goods and food; Rosenberg shelters are running out of food. Enough volunteers at the church already making sandwiches so I made a trip to the store for supplies. Another "thank you Jesus" moment for me when I left...leaving my wallet in the shopping basket. :headache: Arrived at the church before I missed it; went back to the store and it had been turned in and was waiting at the register. :yay: God bless whoever turned it in...and nothing missing. :yay: Went back to the church to deliver my supplies and was greeted by the Princess and ALL our neighborhood kiddos. :lovestruc They were all there unloading supplies and carrying them in the church. Banks still closed; mail delivery has been suspended until further notice; no newspaper delivery; school opening has been pushed back to next Tuesday. Ironically the first time the sun came out from behind the clouds in Bellville was the moment Air Force One touched down in Corpus. :lovestruc President Trump is now in Austin visiting the Command Center and offering any help needed. Rivers in our county are going down but major, MAJOR road damage. Don't even want to think about the damage to the Houston area. To date, 9 deaths but fear a lot more once the flood waters recede. Among those 9 deaths was a family of 6 trying to evacuate. Their van was washed off a bridge into the bayou. Bayous, leeves and reservoirs are either spilling over the top or breaking creating more flooded neighborhoods...and shelters are full. Post on Facebook showed a line of 30 trucks/boats from northeast Texas on their way to Houston. All the devastation but my little hummingbirds are making me smile. :goodvibes :tink:
