Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

This is from a park. It is etched in what I assume is concrete. It's not on a wall or on the ground. It is on something but not something you would use :)

It's been warm and sunny here too. We haven't had any rain in forever. Some rain would be nice up here.
MK or AK?

This picture AMAZED me. This is the road we travel into the Katy/Houston area...I-10. This is about about 7-8 miles from Katy:

Some of the TV reports from Katy show a LOT of flooding. Hope your friend is safe...and DRY!:tink:

I texted her, will have to wait until my next break to see if she has replied. . .

Is it at Epcot? Is it a planter ?

SO true; certainly not a "morning person" after a hurricane :rotfl2:! For the first time in 3 nights I SLEPT WELL...until NOON! :faint: No alarm set since either rain or phone calls have taken care of that the entire weekend but neither one this morning!:dancer: 23 inches but for the first time in 3 days the forecast says 50% instead of 100% chance of rain!:dance3: School has been cancelled today through Thursday; stores are running out of food. DH went to Subway for lunch and they have 12 loaves of bread left and then they'll close. Supply trucks from Houston can't get through. One of the roads to DD's house out of town is washed out; DH had to go the "long way around" to get to her house. I'll get back with crop answers after I get some breakfast/lunch :goodvibes but to answer a few questions...DD and family are safe/sound in their home with the giant dog :rotfl:; DH and I are safely tucked away in our home with the stray dog. :goodvibes We've named him Snoopy for now and he's content just sleeping and staying dry. Roof leaks have stopped :yay: and just a light rain. DH said wind was crazy this morning; blew his truck around more than once on the way to DD's house. Know of at least one friend whose home was flooded in the Katy area; she and her children are here in Bellville with her mother. Glad to see Jeff is back and Diane will be later...she spent the weekend in Maine and is at her new job this morning. Later...:tink:

oh man sounds like its going to be a huge clean effort after all the water has gone

Wow! I saw them pulling a trucker out of his huge tractor trailer truck that he had tried to drive through the water. The water was up to the window of his cab! They came with a boat and pulled him out. He must have had a very important load to try to drive through that! :sad2: Glad you all are okay and you had a good night's sleep :)

Ventured out of the house for the first time since Friday. Needed to go to the bank but IT'S CLOSED :faint:; very few cars on the road which is a good thing. All drainage ditches are full but draining:

Lots are full of tree limbs and a few entire trees down:

City crews removing the larger ones from the roadways:

...and water standing everywhere:

...and yet WE are so lucky. That sucker is on it's way back out into the Gulf; scheduled to make a THIRD LANDFALL into Texas late Tuesday. This time to the east of Houston. :tink:

...and that's a common sight in Houston. Thank God for citizen volunteers; no way the authorities can make all the rescues. Rescue volunteers are arriving in Houston from 10 plus states and all over Texas. :lovestruc DH has gone to assist the current commissioner on the process needed for federal aid and dealing with FEMA. BUT...he gets to come home this evening :yay:...not spend every waking hour dealing with the disaster. ::yes:: :tink:

:thumbsup2 Hoping she's not effected! Just an FYI, don't be surprised if she doesn't answer right away. Cellphone service is "hit and miss" and many areas have no service at all. Let us know what she says! :tink:

If you answered, I missed the question on Epcot...at least I think it was asked. I'll add HS if not. :tink:

Does it begin with a letter between A and K? I'm just going down the list on the map....
Design a Tee? The Dino store at T-Rex? or Marketplace Fun Finds?

Basin, Build a Dino or Design a Tee?

and I have not been to DS since they changes it all around so I just know the old part of Market place haha

:yay: It's from the BASIN...a must stop for me with every visit and it's in the same spot it's been since this was "Downtown Disney" with Pleasure Island. :rotfl: Love their bath salts and cute little bars of soap. Super "stocking stuffers" at Christmas! :goodvibes

She did not text me back but I saw on instagram she posted a picture of her flooded backyard. It looks like the water is not even close to being up to her house. She commented on there that she is safe!

Finally sat down and read a little from Sunday's newspaper. Wow...moved to tears seeing the pictures and reading about the Rockport/Port Aransas area. "One of Rockport's most visible landmarks-a cavernous, five-story boat storage facility-was ripped open by the hurricane-force winds. Scores of boats were exposed high in the air, tucked into their spaces, but others had been ripped from the facility and had landed below. Next door, a sprawling boat yard, called the House of Boats, had been the scene of harrowing escape by worker Fermin Garcia, 46. After he helped the owners lift a number of boats out of the water, he and his son and another young worker retired to their houseboat, moored behind the yard. Hours after Harvey arrived, Garcia felt the wind was about to lift the boat into the air. The trio quickly abandoned ship, and made their way in the howling wind a short distance to a large iron fuel tank. They pried open the end of the tank, climbed inside and spent the next 12 hours listening to the storm and the crashing of large boats being thrown from their cradles." CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT NIGHTMARE? :scared1: One police officer on duty in Rockport "appeared dazed" as he told the reporter "it's town wide, it's all over. There is not a part of Rockport that you can drive into and not see devastation." :sad1: :tink:

:rotfl: Surprise :rotfl:...but then, those bath salts are just as good as candy to me! :goodvibes

Awesome! Glad to hear that and the most important thing is she's safe! :thumbsup2 They're calling for evacuations for some of the Katy area subdivisions but if she's not close to a river she should be fine. It's still raining but lightly; we've only had a half inch today...a little more rain in Houston area but not the extreme downpour of Saturday and Sunday. This is being described as an "800 year flood"...impossible to know which areas the rivers will flood. The largest river flowing through our county, the Brazos River, is predicted to peak at 128 ft. Hopefully she can stay put! :tink:
