Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

This is Logans Pass on Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. Driving up there from the west side of the park was the scariest thing I've done since I was a stupid teenager!! A woman the night before heard me talking and said "Are YOU going to drive Going to the Sun Road!?!?!"

I said "yeah, Google says it's 50 miles, an hour and a half."

She said "You sure are brave!!!!!"

I should have said "ignorance is bliss!" because I blissfully started up. By the time I was scared to death, it was too late to turn around. I inched my way up, even stopping sometimes when people passed me. Narrow road. Rock wall 1,000 feet high on one side. A cliff 1,000 feet straight down on my side. No shoulder! No guard rail!! I'm glad I lived to tell about it!

One of the entrances to our high school...the drainage ditch at the edge of the road is at least 6' and it's overflowing:

Son-in-law usually plays golf here on Saturdays :lmao::

That's pretty but no thank you. I don't think I'd even HIKE a road (hugging the mountain) like what you described! :tink:

I hope the worst is over for you Karolyn!

No Ma'am...this is just the beginning for us ::yes::. If predictions/warnings are fulfilled we'll have this type of rain/wind UNTIL Wednesday, maybe Thursday. Rainfall totals have been upped to 40 inches. We've received 9 1/2 total so far so a long way from being over. We have 2 high pressures dominating the position of the storm...one in West Texas, the other one over Mississippi, Alabama, Florida panhandle area. The now tropical storm will "bounce" between these high pressures until the jet stream gets it's act together and moves one of them! :faint: The storm is so big, it continues to draw moisture from the Gulf of Mexico which equals rain...and rain...and rain. We shall see but forecasters are cautioning the "worst is yet to come with the rain". :headache: :tink:

The Weather Channels Jim Cantore just reported from Rockport. He said the trip from Corpus to Rockport took him longer than any other relocation after a hurricane in his career. Highway FULL of debris...20 miles of snapped off or leaning over utility poles. Arrival in Rockport wasn't much better...leaves are totally stripped from trees; buildings at the high school totally destroyed, gym have gone and the AC units on the main building are laying on their sides on the roof...or have blown off entirely. :sad2: :tink:

Just got back from Animal Kingdom. I had a rough week at work and really needed a Disney fix so we just decided to go, never would I have thought I could get a fast pass on the same day, but we did. Avatar, Flight of Passage was awesome. Pandora is really neat, at first I thought is was sort of ugly, but the details that were put into this area are amazing. Also saw video of the 9 day old tiger cubs, cant wait to see them in person.

:yay: DD said the SAME thing! She said the detailing is beyond description! Beautiful pictures...and they LOVED Flight of Passage too! :tink:

I thought so...now :headache: to figure out where. Did I ask if it was from an attraction? Thought I did but not positive...I'll just start with GMR. :tink:

Attraction or just part of the decor of the park? Inside or outside?

This is from inside an attraction in HS but it's not from the Great Movie Ride.

Pandora looks interesting even if I'm not into the movie. Better than Star Wars for me.

Sorry you had a tough week at work Terri. What do you do?

Looks like you are in for a lot more rain Karolyn if you are going to get 40 inches. I hope everyone is okay. People always want to ride it out :sad2:

Yep...but just about the only place to go now is DALLAS! :rotfl2: Triangle from Houston to San Antonio to Austin...all in the 15-30 inch predictions. Areas close to rivers are being evacuated but authorities are just asking people to STAY HOME. Our Saturday evening church service has been cancelled and I'm guessing school will NOT start on Monday, as planned. :headache:

Still didn't say for sure if this was from an attraction or not so is your crop from Tower of Terror? :tink:

I am the office manager of a small non profit that runs a school and provides therapy services to kids with special needs. Money is super tight so trying to pay bills, pay employees and just keep the lights on has been so stressful this past month. Plus since our new school year started in August, we had new hires, new health insurance to enroll everyone in and just get everything ready to open. Being a small non profit we do not have the funding to hire the amount of people we really need to run the administrative side, so we all do multiple jobs, so I do payroll, AP, AR, keep track of the finances, plus help in the school office each morning for an hour until the craziness settles down. I am the queen of multi tasking, lol.
