Allie missed SO much today but she says it's okay....now she has something to look forward to next year. Sara visited with a gentleman in the 9/11 Museum who was the only "non-volunteer" allowed in to take photos of the cleanup. He asked where our group was from; she told him a little town in Texas, close to Houston. He then asked if she knew of Royer's Cafe and Pie Bakery. (We happened to be eating a casserole from Royer's for dinner tonight when Sara called .) She said OF COURSE...Katie's dance studio just had a fundraiser selling Royer's food. He then proceeded to tell her someone had sent him a Royer's Apple Pie; he said he's had Apple Pies from all over the world but the Royer's pie was THE BEST out of all he's sampled! Our neighbor works for the company and he told Sara to please tell her how much he LOVES their pies! Small World! Shopping/9-11 Memorial and Museum and the Christmas tree were on today's "list". Katie's favorite "moment" .... the bowl of pickles ... Sara said she almost tackled the waitress when she was walking toward their table with her bowl of pickles! And OH...our forecast for Thursday has been revised. High of 71; low of 12! That would be a HUGE temperature change IF it happens!

Allie's better but Sara skipped the Broadway show this evening. Not sick yet but not feeling 100% either! I'm not sure if I believe the forecast or not but have to prepare. Then I look at the rest of the country and think...they could be right! I don't have time for that crap! Suppose to have up to 40 mph winds too which means every cover I put over my plants has to be anchored. Just noticed my Aloe Vera plant has 2 flower stems ready to bloom and all of my Shasta Daisy's are blooming. Even have 5 roses that have bloomed this week!

YEP...think that was a good idea! Think you might be home for awhile! It's beautiful but no "quick trips" to the grocery store/local deli and meat market (errands I just ran this morning) for you! Did you see my post of OUR predicted low Thursday? We'll go from around 70 degrees during the day to (now predicted) 12 degrees Friday morning and stay below freezing at least 2 days! Quite a change from last Christmas when our high on Christmas Day of 84! And my sister was SO looking forward to warmer temperatures on their DW trip (they're flying out Christmas Day) but now DW is having the coldest Christmas Day they've had in 33 years! Stay warm!

You'd better get things wrapped up today ; sounds like you'll be "homebound" for the holidays! Hopefully "Santa" is ready and can make it to your house! We're hoping Sara, Allie & Katie...and their fellow travelers...get out of NYC and back in Texas before the storm hits in the east. Lot of airport delays already today and their flight doesn't leave until 7 this evening so keeping our fingers crossed. I'll be out today trying to get protection on my TROPICAL plants! They prefer the 100 degree temps NOT the mid-low teens! At least we're not suppose to have any rain/ice/snow...just pretty dang cold for Texans! Stay safe on the roads Jeff...get that work done and get back home and enjoy your White Christmas!
