IS in the AK! I think they are tikis

Would your photo be in Africa? Maybe Rafiki's Planet Watch? :tink:

My guess is that it wasn't there when I was there. That there was a topiary there for the Food and Wine show at the time. Is it in one of the landscaping around the entrance?

Taking a short break from hanging ornaments on the tree...could it possibly be the boat dock? :tink:

I did some googling and it looks like this didn't open until October of 2010. So it's only been there a little over a year. It's not at the boat dock, but one of the boat docks is pretty close to this.

here's the full pic.

any last guesses?? if not, i'll reveal the location next.

We were last there in July, 2010, so I'm just guessing...the area overlooking the lake behind the gift shops? I think it's a handicap viewing area for Illuminations. :tink:

Got your decorations up yet?

From the spot you describe, this would be behind you on the other side of the gift shop, and across the path. The Odyssey is on the other side of the water from here. They built a Meet and Greet at this spot.

I didn't realize this was such a recent addition. I thought perhaps I just missed it the trip before this last one. That's two in a row now I've done that nobody has seen. Oops.

My decorations are up (mostly). It really doesn't seem like I have alot of lights though. :confused3 I got most of the stuff out that first weekend, and since then I've been trying to fix a lot that wasn't working. I had a lot of sugar the other night and I fixed 2 snowmen, a penguin, and a deer and put them all out.

That's probably as good as it is going to get. Perhaps if I find the time I will work on getting more candy canes working, and maybe do my snowflake project. I used to have a lot of snowflakes, but none work anymore. I took out all the lights and instead of replacing them I was just going to make a giant mobile and hang it from the tree, then shine a floodlight on it. :lmao:

I'll get a pictures of what I have up by this weekend. gotta go to bed now. big day tomorrow, taking the family into Manhattan to see the Macy's Santa/Rockefeller Center Tree/store windows... and of course, The Times Square Disney Store!

I'M SO JEALOUS! What fun that will be for the family! :woohoo: The trip you're taking is on my "bucket list" :rotfl2:; along with Christmas at DW! My mother (she was 87 yesterday) would have a TOTAL temper tantrum is we "deserted" the family during the Christmas holidays. :lmao: She "had a fit" in '09 when my sister and her kids left on the 27th for nephew's DW wedding on New Year's Eve. :rotfl: Hope you post some pictures for us so we can enjoy a "New York Christmas" too!

I know the exact spot your photo is at, now that you've described it! As for posting photos of things the rest of us haven't seen...that's the FUN part of the game! We get to see DW through "other eyes". :tink:

PS...good luck with the rest of your decorations!

I'm still convinced your Mickey wasn't there when I was there in Oct - or my DisCuz and I would have taken a picture of it! :rotfl2:

I HOPE your decorations are up by now! It's only 10 days til Christmas!! :scared1: I hope you have time to send us some pictures.

Your day trip sounds like the trip of a lifetime for most people. I grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC and remember going "into the city" to see the window displays and the National Christmas tree. I went "into the city" last Christmas and you can't get anywhere near the White House or the National Christmas Tree. I'm glad I have so many pre-9/11 memories of DC because it sure has changed!! :sad1:

Hope you and your family have a nice day and take some pictures for us! :yay:

No, not in Africa. Not in Rafiki's Planet Watch. Here's a larger crop:

It is always there but, it's inside so I hope you have all seen it.

I'm "lost" now, since it's not in Africa! :rotfl2: I'm REALLY going to have to spend more time in that park! :rotfl2: Totally guessing from here~I know how much you love EE...makes no sense to be there :rotfl: but maybe the queue area? :tink:

I hope this is something I've seen. :sad2: It makes me think of Belle and the Beast. Park, resort or other? HS?

As for seeing this, Denise, I'd guess YOU, personally, probably haven't but then maybe you have. :confused3 I guess I'd have to classify this as an "other". :tink:

You may not have seen mine since it's inside. You would have had to make an effort see it. It was worth the extra time and effort though and if you haven't see it, I HIGHLY recommend it.

But, it's not in the EE queue or in Asia...

Oh, I'm not good at "others" :rotfl2: DTD? Somewhere around on the property? That golf place?

Hmmmm not in Africa or Asia; Discovery Island? :confused3

You need to spend more time visiting "others" :rotfl2:; my photo is in DTD. :goodvibes (Back to cookie/candy baking! Have a roast in the crock pot but won't need much dinner tonight...to much "sampling" today!:rotfl:) :tink:
