We are staying a week at OKW in Sept. and we want a "low key" trip as we were just at WDW for a week in February and this is kind of an extra trip. So, we are planning some non-park days and think it would be fun to pool hop. For sure we are going to SSR since we can take the boat from OKW. We will not have a car, so any suggestions?

The only hops I've ever done are from the Hot tub whirlpool to the main pool... Quite refreshing.

Last sept when staying at the boardwalk we pool hopped to Saratoga Springs, which had an awsome pool! We loved the slide,
and we also went over to Coronado Springs pool, It was very cool! One we would recommend going to - although I'm not sure how you would go about it without a car (we had a car- we used the disney transportation mostly exept for the pool hopping day) But I think if you take the boat to DTD there is buses to all the resorts from there,

If you are at Epot or MGM I would take the boat to Boardwalk and try that pool, we loved the slide!!

Those are the only three we have been in and really liked all three, I can only imagine every pool is fun at disney :cool1:

One that looked cool but we didn't try was the pool at the Poly, The valcano looks fun!

I would google them and check out the photos

We were staying at the Boardwalk but we had dinner a night at Ohanas so we brought our suits and enjoyed the Poly pool after a wonderful dinner! :)

Thanks, I think we may try both BW and Poly. We always stayed at Poly as a kid, and then 2 years ago, and my dd loved the Poly pool plus it has fun memories for me even though it's a "new" pool from when I was a kid. Hadn't thought of coordinating dinner with pool hopping!!

I learn something new everyday on here. Had no idea we could pool hop to a non DVC resort. So we are positive that I can take my kids up to the Poly and swim for the day??????? OMG, that's awesome since my plans fell thru to stay there! Yea and thankyou.

We've pool hopped to the Poly or WL & then enjoyed the electrical lights parade or fireworks from the beach.

I think I read once you had to be a DVC member staying at a DVC resort to pool hop, not someone renting points, or staying at DVC on cash.

We've pool hopped to Riverside. Had breakfast at Boatwright's Dining Hall, and our little DGC, they were 2, 3 and 4 very much enjoyed the playgrounds and the pool that was there. We were staying at VWL, and just wanted to do something different one morning. It was great! I had a car, and I drove us in 2 shifts because we did have car seats.

DH and I have invited my sister & brother-in-law for a quick weekend trip in Sept. We will be staying at OKW, as well. We are not doing any of the parks this trip as we were all just their in Feb. too. We hadn't thought about pool hopping. That might be a good idea! We had planned to hit one or both of the water parks that weekend. Now you have given us something else to think about!

OP...I don't think you can pool hop to SSR. I hope I'm wrong think I read that somewhere.

My favorite pools are WL and BW. I you have small kids who like the slide....BW hands down. You can relax on your lounge chair with a cold one while the kiddies run themselves ragged up and down the slide....all within your view:thumbsup2

you CAN'T hop to AK or BCV---all others are fine, as long as no black-out--which is 6/28-7/5, I believe.

Yes, and they have been known to ask for the blue DVC member card (rarely, but it happens - particulurly at "popular" pools.

And yes, you can pool hop anywhere but BCV (any of the pools, not just SAB) or AKL.

We've hopped to the Poly and to SAB (when the BW pool slide was closed and hopping by BWV guests permitted for that reason). Its a little bit of a pain in the back end to do.

No we are not positive.

Generally you can pool hop, but it is suspeneded at various times during the year. (Christmas, Easter, July 4th etc....)

And as others have posted no hopping to AKL or BC/YC (or BCV)

Where could I find the dates for when it is blacked out?

From other resorts - we've hopped to the Poly, POR, SSR and BWV. We tried to hop to VWL but someone had had an "accident" and the pool was closed. Seems like we end up hopping to SSR every trip because I like the flatbread at AP and DTD.

I also like the hop to POR from OKW/SSR because you can go by ferry and there are two theme pools. :thumbsup2

When we stayed at the Boardwalk, we pool hopped at Beach Clubs pool Stormalong Bay. This was October 2006, and had no problem just walking in - no one checked us. An amazing pool. Normally we just hang at our resort, as we have enjoyed all the pools so far
