Where have you have Thanksgiving dinner outside of a home setting?

I had it several years ago at the Crown Colony House in Busch Gardens Tampa, and it was delicious!

Cruise ship a couple times (2016 and 2014). Still ended up eating a turkey dinner - it was actually really good.

Just thinking of the years where I found myself on the road or otherwise eating Thankgiving dinner at some restaurant somewhere. As a kid I remember my parents thought Reno or Vegas would be a reasonable choice - usually some sort of buffet. There was almost always turkey though.

One year my mom was away for a business trip, so it was just my dad and myself at Sizzler. They were also only open until 7 PM.

As an adult I've ended up spending quite a few Thanksgivings at various casinos. They're open every day and as such made a logical choice. The prices were typically jacked up, but there was usually a good spread. 2013 we spent Thanksgiving weekend in Vegas where it was ridiculously cold. A family friend was already seated at the buffet at the Cosmopolitan, and as a result we were allowed to join them rather than wait what was estimated at 3 hours to get in. It was $50 a head, but our kid was free. That was possibly the best buffet I've ever had.
When we were growing up (dad was in the Army), we usually had Thanksgiving dinner at the Officer's Club on base. Well, even after my dad died, we did that until most of us were out of the house.

One year we flew to Southern California and went to Disneyland for Thanksgiving. NOTE: Thanksgiving day itself was pretty nice there (not particularly large crowds), but the day after Thanksgiving, heck no, I'm not doing that again!

We haven't lived near family in many years so we've eaten out a lot. I recall eating at Cracker Barrel, Waffle House, Texas de Brazil, Del Friscos... Now we are living in FL so we just celebrate at Disney - we've eaten at 50's PT, 'Ohana, and this year, HDDR.

I rarely order turkey, even if it's on the menu. It's just not my favorite.

I remember Thanksgiv8ng 1984. That was a trip to Vegas where dinner was the Circus Circus buffet, then Saturday at Disneyland. Don’t recall what we ate at Disneyland, but that was back when they had big name entertainment included with admission. It was New Edition. The crowds were actually low because it was raining heavily. We rode on POTC over and over. I miss those days.

In 2012 DH and I spent Thanksgiving in Newport Rhode Island at a sumptuous buffet at the Castle Hill Inn.
DMil had died at the beginning of November and his family scattered to their own homes- I had hosted them all-up to 25 people- for several years. The year DD spent the holiday with her now DH family and DS recently completed Army boot camp so it was just the two of us. We actually really enjoyed it!

With the Pilgrims. One year, we went to Plymouth Plantation for Thanksgiving. They have an amazing Thanksgiving buffet and then you can wander around the Plantation and visit the Mayflower.

It was pretty cool the year we left for a cruise on Thanksgiving :) Nice to have their interpretation of Thanksgiving dinner.

We decided to take a break last year and not cook. We ended up at Cracker Barrel and enjoyed every bite. As a matter of fact, we liked it so much we all went back this year!

We’ve lived at our current house for 20 years. We’ve had a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner in our dining room about half those times. One year we ordered a precooked dinner from our grocery store. It was just ok. About 6 if those years, we made the trip to PA to have Thanksgiving dinner with DH’s family. The other times (including the last two years at my college kids’ request) we ate Thanksgiving dinner at our country club and then the next day went to see our kids’ colleges play each other in football - big rivalry. I think it’s the winner!

For many years we ate a lovely Thanksgiving meal with my Mom at her PA retirement community. They had a lovely buffet and all my family would gather at our table with other families around. They still do this but now that we are in Colorado we cook our own meal.

One year we had Thanksgiving dinner at a Clearwater hotel overlooking the Gulf coast; lovely view and great food!

We always have Thanksgiving at a home of one of the family. These years it is always at my Mom's. However, the only year not spent in a home was back in high school. My father had to be in Europe on business so we all went with him for a once in a life time trip and my dinner was in a restaurant in Athens, Greece. The only thing I remember having from that meal was a milk shake, but I will never forget the trip:)

Growing up we always had Thanksgiving dinner at our house or another relative's house, never at a restaurant. Once our own kids were grown and out of the house, my husband and I started switching off every other year, having everyone at our house one year, then eating out on the off year. We've had Thanksgiving dinner three or four times at Maggiano's (California and Las Vegas) and buffets at a few different casinos.

This Thanksgiving, for the first time, we ate at Walt Disney World! We had fish and chips from the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK Pavilion in Epcot. It was delicious, and I didn't miss cooking AT ALL, or the after-dinner clean up! I don't think I'm ever going to cook another turkey in my life! LOL!

One year we were on the road to WDW and had Thanksgiving dinner at Applebee's since it was the only place open. Never again.
Many years ago Disneyland did a Thanksgiving Feast Buffet. It was grand. You had to make reservations months in advance. It was held at the ballroom in the hotel and served turkey and all the trimmings. Pheasant, ham, goose and so many sides. They even had a children's buffet. The dessert table was to die for.

We never stay home for Thanksgiving; we always travel - I don't think my kids have ever had the "traditional" Thanksgiving Dinner at home. Usually we go to Canada and eat at a restaurant overlooking Niagara Falls, but this year we went to Baltimore and ate in a bar/restaurant. It was fun!

We ate Thanksgiving lunch at Margarataville in Universal Citywalk last year. Wish we could have did it again this eldest.

This tear we ate at Garden Grill at EPCOT. In past years we’ve eaten at the Thanksgiving dinner hosted in the Disneyland Hotel ballroom and Blue Bayou.

Growing up we drove to grandmas house for holiday meals. Dinner was served early and not many leftovers to take home, so our traditional dinner stop was Jack in the Box because they were the only one open on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Usually we are home, but its just me and the kids so unfortunately not always festive (or fun). Last year we were in Disney and ate at Homecomin, which was pretty good. This year my son is in CA with his wife and my girls didn't want to stay home. We went to Cracker Barrel and then to see Ralph Breaks the Internet. We had a great time. I don't think we will ever "just stay home" on Thanksgiving again.
