Where for my 40th?

My 40th birthday is our last full day at WDW. I'm trying to decide where to go for my birthday meal and whether to make it lunch or dinner. It might be easier if I knew the park hours.

I'll be traveling with dh and 3 kids (4-turning 5 there, 10, and 13).

I thought we'd start that day at the Studios, since that's the EE park. Then we could head to Epcot to eat lunch. I want to finish up at the Magic Kingdom, though if it closes early (7 pm), we could probably do a late dinner at Epcot.

I was thinking of lunch either some place in Epcot or at the castle. Is the castle really worth it for lunch? The menu looked very expensive and not great choices (for my tastes).

These are the PS's I already have for the trip:

Lunch at 50's Prime Time
Dinner at 'Ohana's followed by Wishes cruise
Dinner at Chef Mickey's
late breakfast at Crystal Palace
Ice Cream Social at Garden Grill

Where should I celebrate my birthday?

I'd like to go to Ohana myself...it's just a question of finding people who'd go with me...so that's my pick. I personally wouldn't stay for the fireworks because I'd want to get over to Pleasure Island.

Hi beth and Happy Birthday! I will also be celebrating my 40th at WDW this year and just wanted to send a shout out! I couldn't think of any way more special (or to ease the blow!) than turning 40 at Disney World. As a treat to myself, we are staying at the Poly. We usually always stay moderate or value but you only turn 40 once, right?!?! I am also thinking 'OHana and fireworks from the restaurant, hopefully we can time it right. Anyway, good thread, hope we get some more suggestions. Happy 40th!!

Sitting at a window seat next to your dearest, across are your children and out the widow is the World According to WALT, a man with family as yours.
Three choices, the Poly(view of the Castle) , Chef Mickeys(view of Grand Floridian and MK), or my favourite ( but expensive), California Grill( the whole package).
Insist on a window seat when making your reservation plus mentiion that it is a birthday celebration.
Matter of fact mention that to ALL OF YOUR RES. even your resort you are staying at ahead of time.
We have been surprised on occasion at any WDW eateries if we mention we were celebrating a special event.
ENJOY!!!
"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!"

Happy Birthday Beth:)
For my niece's 24th birthday we are also planning on celebrating by having lunch at the 50's PTC and dinner at Ohana's followed by the Wishes cruise:cool:
If you decide on this, please let us know how it goes for you. Sounds like fun to me. We don't go until August and I can hardly wait.:hyper:

What a great place to celebrate your 40th b-day!!!

I recommend Narccossee's at the GF. It is probably the best restaurant at WDW!!

See if you and time your PS with the fireworks at the MK and request a table viewing the MK. If you can't make that work; gor outside on the deck and view you happy birthday fireworks.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Since we already are going to Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana earlier in the trip, I'll take a look at California Grill and Narcoosee's.

Dewey's girl--HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you too! I can't think of anywhere I'd rather watch my "baby" turn 5 and turn 40 myself. It's got to be at the happiest place on earth.

Beth

Room for one more suggestion???

I'd go for a waterside table at the Rose & Crown for dinner. We did that a few years ago for my husband's 40th. We had a birthday cake and then enjoyed Illuminations. He's still talking about it.
