Please help me decide where to eat for our first night @ the world. We will be arriving early Friday, April 6th and plan to visit Epcot due to EMH hours and the fact that my dd (13) loves it there.

I originally planned on eating at our fav Le Cellier but then thought maybe I should save that for later in the week and eat somewhere else. I was thinking about Coral Reef but I'm not sure about it and my dd is a bit of a pickey eater so places like Morraco or Germany are out of the question? Should I do Le Cellier twice or perhaps even try Rose & Crown? How is the food there? We ate in Mexico and Alfredo's before and we weren't really impressed @ either place except for the beautiful view in Mexico.

Any and all suggestions are welcome and will give me something to think about.

Thanks!!

Hi Julie,

Slightly off topic: As far as I know, April hours have not yet been released...and EMH days do change from time to time, especially on holiday weeks.

Definitely try R&C, and try for an ADR about 90 minutes prior to Illuminations, and ask for an outside table, and be nice and tell them you know it isn't guaranteed but would be highly appreciated, and if you get it, relax, eat slow, and enjoy dessert or a drink while Illuminations entertains you. (The dessert smapler was terrific)

Coral Reef is very good. They have some plainer entrees like a steak and on the kids menu they have a grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes. I know you said your dd is 13 and technically too old to order of the kids' menu but WDW generally strives to please and if there is just nothing there for her on the adult menu I am sure they would let her order off the kids (at a possibly higher price). If nothing else she can have a salad and save room for the chocolate wave or one of the other fabulous desserts they have at CR.

I also don't think Marrakesh in Morocco would be out of the questions. The food is not overly spicy, they have a lemon chicken that is very basic. My kids (including my picky 9 year old daughter) loved the food there. And the atmosphere is wonderful. Your daughter would really enjoy the music and belly dancer. Morrocan food is not spicy like other ethnic foods. And again, the servers would probably be happy to help you find something just right or ask the chef to make it just right for your daughter.

Since you seem to like steak, I'd recommend Teppanyaki -- it really isn't "scary" or exotic/challenging food, the steak is fabulous, and it's a fun experience that makes for a memorable meal.

How about walking thru Epcot to the Beach Club and have dinner at Cape May Cafe?

These are some great suggestions thanks. I wanted to go to Teppanayki originally b/c my dd LOVES those type of places but they are closed for rehab of some sort while we are there :sad1:

I would also like to try R&C b/c my Mom is from England but I am not sure we will enjoy the food there (after all British food can be quite bland right)

Maybe I'll look into the possiblity of Morroco again but even though my dd will eat Steak, some chicken and Salmon off the Adult menu she doesn't eat pork, ribs, fried chicken or anything with fancy sauce either but yet the kids menu is too kids I guess. Am I making sense LOL?

Anyway, I might even hog LeCellier twice b/c we love that place but I really feel I would miss out on experiencing somewhere new. The Cape May Cafe might be an option or even one of the places in the nearby resorts. Hmmm never thought of Spoodles.

Thanks everyone I'll let you know what I decide.

Thanks to everyone for the replies and I think I am going to stick with the Coral Reef b/c I've been reading some positive reviews lately and I think it will be a cool place to dine with my dd. She will like the fish tank and the divers and such and it's her birthday so I will make sure to arrange that the divers do the sign thing if possible. How does one arrange that by the way?
