Where does Spectromagic begin?

Frontierland? I am trying to "time" everything! We will be having dinner at CM's the night it is showing and I'm thinking that if we are running short on time then at least we could catch the parade on Main St.(although I prefer Frontierland!)

Both times we have been there (aug & OCt 2004) it started at the end of main street and came toward the castle.

It starts over by the barbershop on Main St. I think the fire station is there. Then the afternoon parade starts at the rear of Frontierland.

Thanks...better rethink my plan!! Is there a good spot in Liberty Square/Frontierland to both view the parade AND Wishes?

I would say no, because Wishes is so much more awesome when viewed from Main Street - you just don't get the same effect with the castle from anywhere else - I've tried. Spectro can be seen from Frontierland along the route, but I would not suggest trying to see fireworks from there. Supposedly the bridge going beside the castle towards Liberty Square is an excellent spot, but we checked it out last trip, and you wouldn't be able to see things over the castle the way they are made to be. Same thing for the Tommorrowland bridge - so many people on disboards raved about this location so we tried it and were extremely disapointed. If you only care about the fireworks, it's a fine spot, but to see them with the story and framing the castle, you have to be on main street.

We tried viewing Wishes from the area by the Liberty Belle where you stick your heads through the yokes. I was sorry we were'nt by the Castle. But my MIL was with us in her scooter, so I didn't want to chance going into a crowd.

We have watched it from Liberty Square several times and never felt we missed anything as far the parade. We did have to move to see the fireworks if they followed, but being able to sit down and not camp out an hour before has its plusses. Twice we planned so we left dinner at the Tavern and were right there.

A whole bunch of us watched the Christmas parade right in front of the stocks area in Liberty Sq. Got to sit on a stone wall and dh sat on a 'borrowed' scooter!!! We have watched the fireworks from there but not since they changed over to Wishes. I'm sure you could still watch them from there but you would lose some of the effects.
