We have one DD15 and she is bringing a friend for the first time on your WDW trip. she is so excited. She so wants to go to US/IOA.

We have gone twice before during trips. Once on front end of WDW and once on back end of WDW. I don't care for US/IOA. I don't ride much there b/c of a bad knee/hip . I COULD ride but I guess I am afraid to screw something up so I tend to avoid but am ok at WDW.

I am trying to position the trip so WWOHP 2 is open. I have us arriving on 6/15 Sunday for 2 nights, 3 days at US/IOA onsite for FOTLA

I COULD move this to the back end of the trip thus allowing another weekend of chance for WWHOP 2 to be opened but I can't wrap my brain around leaving Florida from US instead of WDW. I like that they take our luggage from WDW and just like it so much better at WDW etc. Am I being a big baby or what?

For those that have done US/IOA while at WDW - did you do front, back or middle of stay - did you prefer one way over another?

If you are staying onsite at US/IOA, I'd suggest doing it last because if you are using the unlimited express pass it makes it tough to be standing in lines at WDW after not standing in lines at US/IOA.

yes I am onsite and I thought of that as well...prior years was no worry b/c I was a master at fast passes and we did a ton. I have not tried the new magic band system and that was a concern of mine as well....thx

agree with damo.

i do split stays and the darkside stay is at the end of the trip.

for me, the motherland stay is very busy for me, rushing a lot to the parks for rides.
once at the darkside, it becomes a very relaxing vacation where i am not looking at the clock.

At the end as the others have said. You will find not having to deal with MBs and FP+ or ADRs a great relief. You should end a vacation in a relaxing fashion.

thanks all! I switched to the end of the trip! Good advice.

:thumbsup2 This is what we do. I made a mistake the first time and did US/IOA first and then had to listen to the kids all week about how lame the rides were at WDW and how much they hated standing in line and "when can we go back to Universal?"

OP here. Yes that was a worry of mine too! I ended up changing AGAIN and think I have the perfect compromise!!! How does this sound?

GFV 2 nights (my dream resort)
YC 5 nights (DD and DH favorite b/c SAB)
US/IOA 2 nights onsite (Royal Pacific)
THEN we return to Disney for one night. No parks but just to be able to have a nice dinner and really use that 3rd day at US if we needed it. DID NOT want to rope drop this day in June then catch a plane all sweaty. Yuck. so now we check in back at WDW and DH can give luggage to southwest in morning. He is thrilled with that and I get to end my trip at Disney with no parks!!!

There ya go! You've solved all of your issues. It is a lot of moving around, but if you don't mind that, it should be a ton of fun.

It IS a lot of moving for sure! Have done 4 moves before usually just do 2 but I love fedexing stuff home after each stop so we arrive home with the tiniest bit of luggage...although I do get dirty clothes in a mail a few days later lol!
