Where Do You Plan/Purchase Your Trip?

With gas prices soaring, we need all the breaks we can find! We have found a way to make our vacations completely tax deductible!! :woohoo: (driving mileage, food, hotel, airfare, etc) Getting paid the commission from our vacations is better than sitting around waiting & hoping for that elusive postcard or rate code!!! And, I can still apply the rate when & if it arrives, making the deal even better!! :thumbsup2 The best part, I'm NOT even a TA!!!:goodvibes

Can you explain how that works? It sounds like a great deal!!!

I did a ton of research on my own online. Then I went with a TA at Small World Vacations. It is our first trip onsite and I felt more at ease letting a TA handle it.
She's been great and extremely prompt with everything. I think I would still like to do all the research myself but would definately use her again once I made up my mind. It was nice to have someone do the extra calling for us, especially when free dining was released.:)

We are also using Small World for the second time in Dec. They did a fantastic job last time, getting the exact room we wanted,as well as a few special ADR's for us and getting us some discounts that came up after we booked our reservation.
They are doing the same great job for our upcoming trip, even adding on a day for us at the end with no problem.:goodvibes

I researched everything online, then had a TA do all the work, except for the airfare. I booked that myself. My DW made all the ADR's, she had fun doing that.
Don't make yourself crazy over it! Happy Planning!:yay:

I have booked all but one of my trips on the Disney Website, and felt like I did enough research to get good deals. Back in the day, it was the buy 5 days, get 7 for the same price. Now, it is the free Disney Dining package.

I did use a travel agent once. An unusual situation, for me. The agent was able to get me the APH discount for purchasing that, then doing a room only vacation. That year I also did a split stay at POFQ and AKL. I had a lot going on that year, and was glad I used the agent for all of the complications. The agent also had a nice gift bag waiting for us in our room, which was a nice touch!

I'm a TA lol so I book it myself. But before I got the TA job I loved calling Disney. I get into the best conversations with the cast member. Now there is a special line I can call and the conversations always end up about me wanting to work there lol

We always do it through CRO and yes the planning part to me is almost as much fun as the trip itself is!

My trip isn't until next year but I am already planning it. I figure I could be addicted to worse things, right? No one in my family has entered me in that show "interventions" yet so I guess I am alright-lol

I'm a fan of going through a AAA agent. We booked our April 08 trip with AAA and had no problems at all. We're even planning on using the same agent when we plan our next WDW trip. For us, using AAA is the best way because they can reserve the whole package for us (airfare, resort, DDP and ADRs).

Personally, I could never plan a WDW trip on my own because knowing how flighty I can be I'd forget something!:rotfl:
