Where do you like to go eat offsite?

Hi all. I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Orlando for Mid October 2018. We will be staying offsite for the first time. So I wanted to see what the Dis community would recommend for offsite dining. What is your favorite restaurant... best value... unique experience?

Miller Ale House is near universal and popular with locals

Quite a few more that many of us venture offsite to

Do you have a particular type of food in mind?

As Mac says what kind of food do you like.......any budget? There are a huge amount of offsite places to eat.....

Teak Neighborhood Grill is 5-10 minutes away from Universal........we’ve been going there since 2007, very local place and still not too many tourists go there........

Bubbalous Bodacious Barbeque is another good place for food and as cheap as you can get, but fabulous food.

There’s some higher end places on Sand Lake we like. Ocean Prime and plenty of other high end places.

Ale house is a good choice, close to Universal as is Kobe.......

There’s a few places I wouldn’t go but have a Google and see if there’s anywhere you like the look of..........some of us do go offsite at times to eat.

October is the one time of year I wouldn't be off sight. The closer to Epcot the better as I would eat at the festival every chance I got.

However, because we don't have one near us, Red Lobster. This is one my wife requests but makes no sense to me. We live between Maine and Boston. Lobster is kind of a local specialty.

Miller's Ale House is next to The Double Tree and is a good value. They also have kids eat free (Tuesday or Wednesday night can't remember which).

Another vote for Teak Neighborhood Grill and Ale House. Both very good. We also love Hash House on I-Drive and 4Rivers BBQ.

Sanaa over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Even when we don't go to Disney we have to make it there.

Somewhat far though, so not sure how helpful.

Several Miller’s Ale Houses in the area. They are not all created equal IMO. Haven’t tried the one closest to U. Read the reviews on tripadvisor. Same with Red Lobster sites in that area.

Sweet Tomatoes is nice cheap lunch option, we don’t have them in our neck of woods.

Giordanos (not chicago style fan lol they have other goodies too)

Charley’s steak house is pricey/fancy but very good indeed

We love the Hash House A go-go in vegas but when the one opened in Orlando had horrible ratings. May have to check the current reviews

If you are interested in cheap but tasty, I would recommend Pollo Tropical. There is one near Universal and one on Highway 192 in Kissimmee

Sweet Tomatoes is a must do every trip for us. It's a soup and salad bar buffet and everything is always fresh and piled high! Runs about $12 per person.
