SammiG,
Try skyauction.com! I won CPGV for Sept. and Dec. for $260 total. Don't know if there is available for August but worth looking for. You find them in the ready set go auctions. I have used them before and have had no problem with chekc in or anything. There are other timeshares too but I have not personally been to any of the others but people here have. Hope this helps bring the magic to your wallet. :wizard:

I am interested in the answer to this also.

We have friends that are going to Disney in July and have invited us to travel with them. They have a time share at Vacation Villages at Parkway and are staying there. I think it would be great to stay in the same resort so the kids will be close. My daughter will be 12 and they have a daughter the same age.

I am currently trying skyauction but haven't won yet, but haven't been that aggressive.

I have all kinds of questions....mainly how long should I go before becoming "aggressive". We are a good ways out...should I just continue trying to get a great deal up to when???? Am I just being impatient???

Any help and/or advice is appreciated.

Also.....what is this ready set go thing.......can someone translate that to English??? :confused3

I read your thread - THANKS. I have seen some pictures, they may have been yours. I found them through a link on this site.

I guess my main question is timeframes. Should I be concerned NOW that my dates wouldn't be available since I am going in July. I don't know how to guage with the bidding. I saw there is a July surcharge so I understand the pricing.

Could you help me with timeframes, just from your experience?

kml2000,

Timeframe? Good question. If you have a set date and you see an auction that works for you then I would go ahead and bid. The auction you are bidding on does indeed have a surcharge and it is for the smaller 1-bedroom unit (partial kitchen). These units are about half the size of the “full kitchen” 1-bedroom units and do not have a washer/dryer or jacuzzi. And I think it has a queen instead of a king bed. The larger unit shows up in the RSG inventory regularly and you don’t have to pay the surcharge. However, as you probably have seen there is currently nothing for July and most likely there won’t be for awhile. So, if the smaller unit suites your needs and paying a little more doesn’t bother you, then I personally would go ahead and win the auction so you don’t have to worry about it anymore.

eBay. Some of the best deals show up just a few weeks before they can be used but they are there.

I may wait around. It is only my daughter and myself so the smaller unit would be okay for us. I, of course, would love to have the larger unit for that bathtub :) and the better kitchen.

I have set a maximum amount I would bid right now and haven't won with it. I am not too upset, I read on one of the threads I found in a search that this particular resort is somewhat overbuilt. I think that plays in my favor.

I do have set dates and somewhat of a set place to stay. It might sound crazy, but it is the kids that are buddies. I think I would be okay to stay in a hotel/resort close by if it comes down to that.

I may have more questions, when I went on my cruise and came to Disney 3 years ago, this board was a WEALTH of information. I don't know if I could have made that trip without it. We have taken other vacations since then (more budget friendly), but am looking forward to going back to Disney, especially since my daughter will have a buddy to pal around with!
