Where do YOU go for your favorite beach vacation? And what state are you from?

We live in NJ so for weekends we like OC, NJ

For a weeks vacation we love the Outer Banks, NC (Pine Island, or north of Carolla in 4x4 section).

I've been to the Outer Banks of NC and loved it there. But I live on the south shore of LI so I could be at the beach in 20 minutes. I really love the beaches of NY.

Having lived on both mainland coast, I still have to admit my favorite beaches are on Maui. Any beach on Maui will do. The snorkeling, sea turtles, soft sands, warm waters, coral, etc. are just so impressive.

I grew up going to Ocean City, MD but my parents retired in Cape May, NJ. I spent a few summers there in college and fell in love. I was even married there so it will always have special memories. Dad has now moved so the free beach house is no longer. For the price of a hotel for a few days I could go to Disney!!

I'm from Cape Cod so every beach is a favorite beach but after our trip to Hawaii, my favorite beach vacation is Maui -- pick a beach, any beach

Born in Washington, DC, raised in Maryland, and now live in Virginia. My favorite is Ocean City, MD. I find Myrtle Beach way to big, overcrowded, but I'll still go there. I really liked Litchfield Beach, just below Myrtle.

But I always feel at "home" in OC, MD.

Outer Banks, NC

I don't like the "strip" type beaches. We prefer a house or cottage, right on the ocean, with just a few local places to eat. I grew up in SC and wouldn't go to Myrtle on a dare! Different strokes! I *do* however like the beaches around Charleston Spent lots of time on Folly Beach while I was in college....same thing....less stripped out, just single family houses and a few condos.

I'm from Alabama and my favorite "local" beach is Destin, FL. However, my favorite all-time beach is Orient Beach in St. Martin.

I live in Washington, D.C., but I'm originally from Baltimore, Maryland. My favorite beach vacation is in Rehobeth Beach, DE but I also like Ocean City, Maryland for a change of pace.

I am in Gaithersburg, MD (not far from DC). I also am originally from Baltimore. My favorite beach is also Rehobeth Beach, DE, but occasionally we will go to Ocean City, MD for a change of pace. Snoopy, are you my long lost twin?!?

I don't go on beach vacations. I live a few blocks from the beach. We did take a week off of work in July and went to "our" beach during that time.

Grew up going to Rehoboth Beach. Haven't been in about 5 years. Great beach and waves. Love the mile long boardwalk. The Haunted House on the boardwalk is fun - a real classic!

off the mainland: Polihale Beach Park in Kauai. 17 miles of sparking white sand!

We live in Northern Va. Our favorite beach is Atlantic Beach, NC which is on the southern tip of the outerbanks, if you go any further south you land in the ocean (this is exactly where the eye of last weeks eastern hurricane landed). Great white/tan sand, warm waters, non commercial, just a great place to relax. We love it so much we bought a timeshare their last year.

We went to Nags Head a few weeks ago for the first time and I was NOT impressed, I thought it was rundown, crowded and dirty.. We won't be returning anytime soon.

We live in Colorado, so getting to the beach is quite a trick.

So when we DO go to the beach, our favorite by far is the Riviera Maya area south of Cancun. Turquoise water, white sand beaches, and palm trees.
