Last year my 4 yr old DD was FASCINATED by the talking trash can in Tommorowland @ MK. In the past, DH and I saw them when we were there w/o kids, but never paid much attention to where they were to be found.... we're heading back in 4 months and my DD keeps telling everyone she's going to talk to the trash can:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Can someone advise me on where they might be??? TIA! :)

Hi!
My DD was nearly 3 when we visited WDW last year. We sat down to drink a frozen drink from Galactic Goodies in Tomorrowland MK when we encountered Push. My DD loved it! She kept following him around- it was so funny.

We will definitely be looking out for him next month!

I will be interested to see any replies to this thread.

Mandy :)

Our family has always gotten the biggest kick out of the talking Trash Can:goodvibes ... By the way, his name is PUSH...:rotfl2:

Many years ago, our daughters had a quite lengthy conversation with him in front of the castle while we were waiting for the parade. We actually captured the whole event on video and our now teenage daughter is humiliated by the fact that she actually hugged him!!!

Last Fall, we saw him in Tomorrowland outside of Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies and then later that day, he asked our son to escort him 'home'...He comes and goes through a metal gate between Stitch's Great Escape and the faux rock wall at the Entrance into Tomorrowland.

Have you ever watched the CM who is his handler by remote control? Quite Amazing!

You might also ask a CM to call about Character Greeting Locations and see if PUSH is listed... Or I bet even a CM in Tomorrowland would know his schedule.

Good Luck!

We've seen Push in Tomorrowland between Cosmic Ray's and Mickey's Star Traders (at least I think that's the name of the shop). It is a little area with tables and chairs across from the Speedway and next to Cosmic Ray's. We also saw Push come and go through a door in this area which makes me believe that he hangs out here a lot! :thumbsup2

That's exactly where we encountered him a few years ago, but that's the one and only time we've seen him in eight trips to WDW.

Last year, they had a talking trashcan at AK, out at the conservation station outpost area (taking the train ride, where the petting zoo is). I think it was operated by the same person who was working the talking palm tree at the entrance turnstiles. Not alot of visitors venture out there, so it usually isn't very crowded when we have been out there.

both push and pipa are on rigid schedules, which you can either find at http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares , updated every saturday night for the following sunday - saturday, or ask a cast member who should have a schedule of virtually everything on them (called a tell-a-cast).

there's also wes palm at DAK.

Who is Pipa? I"m familiar with Push, but not Pipa! Maybe I'll find her this time!

that's funny.. i initially thought pipa was a girl too, but he's not (i got the idea from the australian girl character on the facts of life - long after they jumped a few sharks). at least.. i think he's a he.

not sure what there is to tell about pipa though. s/he's a recycling bin who hangs out at conservation station. i do have a pic of him/her tho.

that just about clears it up, huh? :) and thanks for the compliment :)

We "met" our first talking garbage can while entering the AK! They are really awesome! Happy Planning:tinker:

I just found this link on Overlooked Attractions which mentions not only PUSH, Ripa, and Wes Palm, but DeVine

http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/ak/issue183.htm

"Another crowd-pleaser that you may walk past without realizing it is DeVine -- creeping kudzu never looked so good! DeVine is really a performance artist dressed in foliage from the top of her green-painted head to the bottom of her stilt-wearing toes. She rests unobtrusively against a tree or a wall, suddenly springing to life to tease an unsuspecting passerby or chase down disrespectful teenagers or others who dare make light of her art."

Still, trying to figure out what RIPA stands for....Is it a recycling term that I am unfamiliar with?

it's pipa, not ripa (that's a talkshow host). and it's just a name. push doesn't stand for anything either (although arguably makes more sense for a name of a trashcan than pipa does).

and yes, i love divine (actual spelling), but she doesn't talk.. at least outside of my head.

Whaaaaaaa!!!!:rotfl2:
Yes, Yes, I meant to type PIPA...although I'm sure that some folks could argue that Ripa can sometimes be a bit 'trashy' too. :scared:

Saw all last trip. Kids were following Push around Tomorrowland. Devine had such a crowd I almost couldn't get a picture.

DF and I like to stand away from the crowd and try to find out who the "talker" is. ;)

We saw it in Tomorrowland and watched a toddler dance along with music that was playing with Push. It was so cute. The CM that operated it really blended in; it took a moment for us to notice just who was talking into a mic!
