I've seen this asked before and have always enjoyed everyone's answers. now that our trip is getting closer, I thought I'd ask - so where do you eat your first night?

Since we joined DVC in 1995, we've always eaten our first meal at Olivia's - even tho' we no longer stay at OKW, it's tradition. The food's fine but it's that overwhelming sense of happiness and anticipation we get when we first sit down. The expectation and wonder that awaits us.

As we fly in from the uk and donlt get to resort until 5-5:30 om, after a already long day, we tend to eat at whichevre repsort we are staying at, which this time aorund will be Olivia's :thumbsup2

We made our first trip to WDW (from Australia) last November. We ate dinner at Chef Mickey's. We also had breakfast there on our last day.

we head to dtd and hit rainforest cafe
we save our olivias meal for some time mid week they need to bring back the chiken

After flying down we go to DTD and go to The Earl of Sandwich because we have a TS for the dinner meal.

It's different every trip....in May it will be the Wave since we will be arriving to the WL around 4pm. That seems like a fun reason to take the boat over to the Contemporary and then hit the MK.

Last trip we were on the DxDP, so it was Narcoossee's.

In June we arrived too late to deal with a signature restaurant, so it was fast food (that doesn't count, does it?) :rotfl:

My kids really like the San Angel Inn, so that has been a first night on several occasions. Hey....they're kids, but I have to admit, I love the ambiance

California Grill. The good food plus the view always gets us right in the Disney mood.

We come from the UK and have the same issue as a PP in that we don't get in until about 5:30pm.

We tend to do a load of running around in that evening though (picking up tickets, buying groceries, etc.) so we tend to eat on the run on that day.

If we finish early enough we'll pop into a park and grab a CS meal, otherwise it's grab a BK on the way to WalMart.

Not exactly glamorous I know but it fills the belly until we have time to get a proper meal.

My dh and I usually get to the hotel around five so after check in we head to DTD for a while and we eat at Capn Jacks. Then it is back to the resort to unpack and get ready for the rest of the magical trip.

When I go with my family (parents, sister and brother) in July we always go to the House of Blues.

Usually our first night is either in HS or Epcot so it's usually 50s Prime Time or somewhere in the WS

Depends on who were traveling with. When it's an adult trip we usually do the signature restaurants. Last year it Cali Grill, this year it Kouzzina.

When we we travel with Grand-Children it's usually a Character Dinner.

We are only coming up to our second trip but we love O'Hana and are doing that for our first night dinner again this year. We had such an incredible experience last year and it really gave us a nice bit of Disney magic!

first night usually varies for us, depending on where we are. However we ALWAYS eat our 1st breakfast at Crystal Palace (8:05am seating)!! It's always a magical start to our day @ MK and our trip in general. DH and
DS (16) love the breakfast buffet there (and I love the potato casserole even though I'm not much of a bfast eater!) My fav character is Pooh so that makes it even better! With a teenage boy a buffet always rocks...they eat a lot.

We always try to got o Ohanas for the first night. If for somer eason we can't get it or get in late, we head down to DTD;)

If we are the Poly we eat at 'Ohana, otherwise it's Chef Mickey's. The kids love to start the trip with a character meal.

Ours is different every trip, and usually has to do with what time our flights were. On the early morning flights, where we arrive before the room is ready (usually), we head straight to the parks and grab a counter service meal. That's usually Epcot - and we try to eat Japanese CS or The Land.

If we arrive late at night, our first meal varies by which park was our choice for the first day.

Over the years, I think it might be fun to plan a "standard" meal - whether that be the first one, or maybe the last one. What a cool idea!
