Where do you eat for Thanksgiving?

I've looked at the menu's and the closest meal I see is at Liberty Tree Tavern. We want to eat early, like 1:00. Where does everyone eat? Does anyone eat outside of Disney World for there Thanksgiving meal? This is our first time going during a Holiday week. I am excited to go but feeling sad about not having our traditional meal at home.

We had private dining deliver a Thanksgiving dinner to our hotel room. If your staying on property and you have the space in your room, I recommend it! It was nice have a traditional Thanksgiving meal, i don't think it would have felt like Thanksgiving if it was at Jiko or something.

Is there a list anywhere of the restaurants that do special Thanksgiving dinners? We are currently booked at 1900 Park Fare for dinner that day.

I'd go some place like Tutto or Chefs, but I'm not really a fan of traditional Thankgiving food. If you like traditional food I'd go for Liberty Tree, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fair, Rose and Crown, or Whispering Canon.

Most of the popular places are already booked. So I would make your choice and do it quickly. Go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/ and search right away!

It is my understanding tho, that pretty much every TS has some sort of Thanksgiving meal. We are going to Whispering Canyon.

We have done Thanksgiving at WDW a number of times. We always thought the ideal dinner was in MK but why???? I guess we thought if we were not home eating our traditional dinner we should at least be in Magic Kingdom. That being said....MK is very busy on Thanksgiving and after a couple of years we decided it just wasn't worth fighting the crowds and we started eating outside of the park. Epcot and resort table service is where we started going and that was much better. A much more relaxed feeling for that Thanksgiving dinner feeling.

The one year we were there on Thanksgiving, we all got Turkey legs and watched the parade.

If you didn't already make dining reservations for thanksgiving you may be out of luck. I tried for 5 people and on a whim put in 6 for everytime slot no restaurant preference and there was nothing available. Glad I Have Captain's Grille for dinner but it looks like it will be counter service for lunch at CBR

I go the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year and I was at the Dolphin in 2004; they have a place called the Buffeteria; which was cafeteria style. My first night there, I had a traditional Thanksgiving meal there complete with pumpkin pie for dessert. It was fantastic!

I laughed because it was like having leftovers at Mom's house!

We are going to Crystal Palace (8:15 reservation), and then to Boma for dessert. We are planning to see how bad the crowds are at Magic Kingdom--we may spend the day at Epcot or DTD.

We are having Thanksgiving at Whispering Canyon this year - we are staying at the VWL and plan to watch the Cowboys after our meal. Our last Disney Thanksgiving trip we had reservations for the Polynesian Luau - we were staying at the Poly. It was very cold that year (even snowflakes were reported one morning) and we decided we should switch our reservations to an indoor location. I called from our room the day before Thanksgiving only to find out that there was absolutely nothing left for us to choose from except Boatwrights at some odd time. We stuck with the luau and the weather turned out okay and we had a great time. Not the traditional Thanksgiving meal, but we were in Disney World without the rest of the family anyway. My advice is to try to get a reservation for Thanksgiving day as quickly as possible. Large families travel together for the holiday and the restaurants fill up quickly.

Last year we decided kind of late to take a Thanksgiving trip after they extended free dining. We got lucky and got a 12:30 ADR at LeCellier. It was great because they were doing their full dinner menu all day long, plus they had a special Thanksgiving dinner offering (which I had, and was awesome).

We're doing 1900 Park Fare this year - we like the food there a lot, like that it's a buffet and the kids who don't all like thanksgiving food can have other stuff, while there is also thanksgiving food for the ones that want it!

yes, book NOW something if haven't yet. My kids were torn between switching to Garden Grill instead - but there is nothing available at all. I plugged in a couple places, and really everything was pretty booked.
Cape May Cafe still had some openings - that was another good option we considered.
But majority of restaurants will be doing TGiving specific foods.

Well.....I snooze and I lose. There are NO reservations left. Anyone who lives in the area know any restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving??

You can't even get into Olivia's at OKW or something like that?

In the past we've done Whispering Canyon at lunch time and enjoyed it a lot. They even had pumpkin pie for dessert. This year our kids decided to try Olivia's for an early dinner. It's our last night at WDW and they want to make a quick run back over to EPCOT after we eat. I made my dining arrangements from the hospital....I was stuck there after some minor complications from hernia surgery. Had my DH bring my laptop to the hospital so I could get the ADR's made. I know, totally crazy!

How many are in your party? I just put in for a party of 4 and there were a bunch of available times for lunch and dinner. There were only 10 restaurants that did not have availability for dinner.

its weird on the disney website if you put a specific time it says nothing is available but if you put the breakfast, lunch or dinner places come up. Slim pickin's but still
