We loved Tusker House at AK for lunch! Now that it is table service where do we eat lunch? What is the next best thing to CS at Tusker? Where do you all eat CS at the AK?

At the advice of the DIS, we hit the Pizzafari place and DID NOT get the pizza! Get the Italian panini type sandwiches. Very, very good.

I understand there's a decent barbeque place, too, I think off by the Dinosaur ride. We're in a barbeque capital, tho, at home, so we didn't have much interest in it at WDW.

We really enjoyed the Italian panini and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, as well as return for another!

We have enjoyed Flame Tree BBQ. Its not the most amazing meal ever, but pretty good for what it is.

Next trip we plan to try the CS at Yak & Yeti.

AK really needs some more options now that they've taken Tusker House away. I used to love TH!

We ate at Flame Tree for lunch when we were there last week. It was fair. I got the bbq sandwich and it was kind of dry. My husband liked the ribs a lot, though.

To be honest I've never really used counter service at AK. I like using the carts around the park, the best one is outside Kilimanjaro Safari, and we load up on tubs of fresh fruit, pretzels with cheese sauce etc, we've had turkey legs from another cart, and then dessert is normally a frozen chocolate covered banana from the ice cream cart. We just prefer snacking around AK:goodvibes

We are going to give Yak And Yeti CS a try when we head down in January and see how that goes. Otherwise, i would say flametree

Flame Tree is best when the weather is beautiful! Sitting under those trees is nice!
I love the turkey legs, but something about walking around in AK with one just seems wrong. lol. (still do it anyway!) :rotfl:

We really like Pizzafari for the Italian panini sandwich, and recently discovered a great fruit plate at Flame Tree, which we share as a "side" along with the meal...and if you sit in the back you can get visited by the nicest ducks. Very tame, eat from your hand, but they don't insist.

We like Flame Tree....finding a quiet spot under the trees, and Pizzafari is good too. My mom likes their pizza and my DH and I like the Panini Sandwiches.

We usually eat at Flame Tree- the food is decent- just watch out for the birds flying overhead. Last time we were there they reunied our meal by leaving a present behind as they flew over.

Restaurantosaurus was without a doubt the worst food I've ever had at any of the parks, and I don't recommend it.

We always eat at Flame Tree at least once during our trip. Our second choice is pizzafari. There was some chicken parm sandwich that was good.

Can someone describe the italian pannini for me at Pizzafari? Is it like an italian sub?
I'm confused, I thought Yak and Yeti was all TS, and no CS there? I went to Allears and I'm not seeing CS anywhere?

A panini is not like a sub; it's usually on something like ciabatta bread and often pressed and hot. The Pizzafari sandwich is:

Hot Italian Style Sandwich with Grapes or Chips - Turkey, ham, Swiss and Provolone Cheese topped with Caesar salad and pesto marinated tomatoes - $7.09

There's both. This is the CS menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu-anad.htm

I haven't seen the CS menu for Yak and Yeti listed online anywhere, but it definitely exists because I saw it when I was at AK on Saturday! We didn't eat there-- it kind of looked like standard mall food court Asian food.... I do remember there was a sweet and sour chicken for about $10 and a couple of other menu items, too.

There's a rather large seating area in the back, along with a surprise drink window with specialty drinks (alcoholic) and beer!

We love Flame Tree! We've eaten there on our last 3 trips to WDW. I always get the BBQ chicken salad. :thumbsup2

We had snacks at Yak and Yeti the other day and liked it. My kids like simple rice dishes and this fit the bill. DH and I split the egg rolls and they were good.

During our trip last week we had CS at Yak & Yeti and everyone really enjoyed it. My family (except me) also likes Flame Tree Barbecue.
