Where do you carry your parkhoppers?

I have read on here about many of you using lanyards and plastic sleeves to carry your park hoppers, but I am afraid they might fall out? Should I just carry them in my backpack?

I usually put mine in my wallet, haven't lost the pass yet!

They also have these slick little metal cases at places like Linens N Things (home decor store), that are perfect for holding essentials. I picked one up for my next trip, we'll see how it goes.

Pocket or Fannypack - I'm too worried about the lanyard thing too.

I picked up a plastic sleeve on a lanyard last year. I've used it 2 times now at WDW and haven't had any problems losing it. It's great. It has an outside slot and a zipper compartment. I keep my fast passes on the outside and the tickets on the inside. The tickets are much easier to get to, they aren't ripped, torn or bent.

I heard about these lanyards, right here on the boards last year. You can find them at Wal-Mart where the wallets are. Usually near the watches department. I don't know how rough you are, but I'm not the daintiest and have had great luck for the last 2 times in WDW. I had gotten 1 each for my whole family, but decided that it would be best if I carried all the tickets myself.

Good luck with your decision.

TTFN,
Maria

my fanny pack has a sm zipper pocket in front

Last visit, before our trip, I was at Walmart or Target stocking up on travel sizes. Happened to need a new toothbrush container and while looking thru those travel size containers (soap, tbrush, razor, shampoo, etc...) I came across a slim, plastic container. Made by Goody, it was a flip lid...so, very sturdy, waterproof and convenient. I bought one ($.99) and it held the passes and room key perfectly. You could probably get a few bucks in it too, but not much else. It was the perfect thinness and size! Then, we just kept it handy in an outer pocket of the backpack!

For me the fanny pack is the way to go. With the zipper there is no chance of it falling out on a ride. Also, the lanyards sometimes hit your face on the wilder rides like Splash Mountain.

I use a small flat card holder that you can attach a lanyard to.

You can get them at any college store where the students have id cards - they are usually very cheap - and I got the lanyard at old navy for less than $1. Many of the card holders have velcro so that they stay closed on their own - I have used this on two occasions and they are great for when you want to enter the parks or get a fastpass you don't need to dig around in your bag

i picked up a fishing license case (small thin clear plastic sleeve just a smidge bigger than a credit card) w/a big safety pin on it and popped that right in my front right pocket... since that's where i usually carry my cash (when i'm not carrying a purse) i am used to that pocket having "valuables" and was careful not to accidentally pull it out w/other stuff...

it worked great and i pinned them w/id info (name, hotel, dad's cell phone #, etc) into my kids pockets too! :)

I keep them in a separate zippered compartment of my fanny pack, that nothing else goes in. That way, I never worry about them being pulled out by mistake when getting something else. The lanyards look very handy, but I just can't get past the (sorry) dorky(to me anyway!) look of them.

fanny pack by themselves. Found out the hard way that a credit card hitting the passes can deactivate. Nothing goes near the passes.

You can always drop the lanyard under your shirt, which is what we do. That way it doesn't fly around on coasters.

Be REALLY careful of putting passes in back pockets. On two separate occasions I have seen people's passes work their way out of back pockets when they were sitting on the ground watching entertainment in the parks. Passes that have gotten badly bent will sometimes not scan well.

Also, be careful if you have the tyvek "paper" passes; if they get wet, or even damp, they get too floppy to scan. DH had this happen to a pass that was inside his wallet; he was sweating so much that his clothing got wet, and the contents of his wallet ended up damp. (Moisture doesn't ruin the strip, and they will work again if they dry out flat, but who wants to wait that long for a FP?)

This is what I do, as well. That way I don't worry about losing it.

I work at a college and just got an extra one like I use for my ID card. It's free and I'm already pretty used to keeping track of one.

The plastic sleeve on my lanyard has a zip-top opening and I feel it is very secure. I also keep a $10 or $20 in there for buying emergency snacks. My knapsack holds too much (sweater, rain poncho, wallet, socks, etc.) and I spend more time rooting through it - it becomes an annoyance.

And since the lanyard sleeve is clear, I can easily see the return time on my fast-passes.

I go to a print shop and get a business card holder. Then put all passes, room keys, credit card and cashin it . And put in front pocket. Works well.

CM also said if they are near a cell phone, that can deactivate them. Also heard placing them back to back will deactivate-don't know if that's true or not??

We use the fannypack. It has a small front zipped compartment that we use to put only our passes in. It makes for easier access for fastpass.:teeth:

Bubba's Mom...I have a very funny story for you!
Loved your idea about the travel case in Wal-Mart so when I was there this morning I checked it out. I found the case you were talking about...and started laughing so hard I think the people around me thought I was nuts (they'd be right but that's another story). Although the container itself doesn't call itself anything...the label on the bin (and also the way it rang up at the checkout) was "tampon holder." I bought one of course and can't wait to throw our tickets, room key and a couple of spare singles in there too! Let's keep it a secret what it was really made for!
