Nintendo Switch 2

Well, June 5th is the release date but no pricing information shared by Nintendo directly as of this posting.
My guess will be at least $400 for price.

None of the launch titles interested me so I'll be holding off on getting one until Tomodachi Life 2 launches (which looks so good).

Whew - it's pricey, but I'm down for it. The new Mario Kart World looks awesome and I am very excited for Kirby Air Riders by Masahiro Sakurai himself! Otherwise, I was a little disappointed that they did not include the rumored using a Switch or Switch 2 unit as a "second screen" a la the Wii U. That would have been cool.

Very odd that Nintendo did not add this into the announcement (even at the end) but thanks for the confirmation!

I have to say that Nintendo hyping up voice chat as a feature did make me laugh. That's been a thing since the OG Xbox guys 🤣

True, but the way they have done it is interesting and very "Nintendo Like" for sure.

The GameShare (as long as it works) is my favorite added feature.

My kids and I mostly play in handheld mode so that feature will be an improvement over needing multiple copies of the same game

Okay I understand why prices were not shown in the direct. $80 for digital games and a physical copy of Mario Kart World is $90......insanity.

Not all that surprising.

N64 games sold for $60 and some cases $80. Would be over $100 in today’s world.

I've already put myself in for the chance to buy a system from Nintendo. Hopefully it'll work out.

Try on April 9th as well when retailers should have a release. The Nintendo notices won’t go out until May 8th.

$100+ GTA6 was being clowned on pretty hard when that was first rumored but $90 for Mario Kart is just nuts to me.

Wouldn’t be shocked if PS6 or Xbox Series Y(or whatever they go with for the next iteration) will be in the $100 realm.

Do appreciate that the Upgrades for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be included at no additional cost for folks with NSO + Expansion

The price in JPY is so much lower than the price in USD. It might be worth buying one from a Japanese retailer and having a forwarding company ship it over.
Japanese Switch 2 consoles will be restricted to Japanese Nintendo accounts only and the only language setting is Japanese. I saw they will release a version with all languages available for about the same price as the US version.

From what I've seen the price difference is similar for the original Switch (for example, a Switch Lite going for 23000 yen but 200 USD), so I don't think this is new. I suspect they were cognizant of imports though and hence they're region-locking this one.

Nintendo finally confirmed that their second iteration of the Switch will release to the public before my 2018 pre-order of Metroid Prime 4 is in my hands. 😂

Now I will be ordering it on an upgraded system.
