Where do you buy your park tickets?

Do most people buy the advanced price tickets at an online site or the Disney Store, or do you buy them at the resort when you check in?

Are there any advantages to either method?

We will be buying 7 day MYW w/ Park Hopping if that makes any difference.

I have read that some vendors sell paper tickets as opposed to the Disney Store that sells the plastic card type tickets. I would probably feel more comfortable with that kind. Is that what you would get if purchased at your resort?

Thanks. It's been so long since I have been to DW I have forgotten all this stuff.

I bought mine for our upcoming trip on Ticketmania.com because of the lower price. Their service was excellent. You do receive paper tickets from them. I have read threads that say you can have your paper tickets added to your room key at check-in, so that's what we will be trying in December.

If you decide to consider Ticketmania, sign up for the Mousesavers newsletter. It comes out on the 15th of the month and provides a link to Ticketmania to save a bit more.

Thanks Paladin.

I just signed up for the newsletter and look forward to catching some discounts.

Another satisfied Ticketmania customer here! I also receive the mousesavers newsletter each month, saving a few dollars more for each pass.

My annual pass I did order through the DVC site, saving me $100!

I used to buy them at the Disney Store, but last time I went the Disney Store here was closed for rehabbed, so I called WDW directly and bought from them and had them mailed, I think there was a $3 shipping charge... but still got the advance purchase discount.

Another happy ticketmania.com customer here. You can save a pretty good bit over Disney prices. The biggest savings are on the 10 day tickets. That's what we bought last time (with the non expiration option) and now we have days left over for our next trip. :teeth:

I'm planning to buy them at Shades of Green this trip for the first time. In the past I've gotten them on base but now they don't sell the tickets I need any longer.

I have recently started ordering from Ticketmania also. No problems. Great discounts and speedy service. We are a family of five and I have already purchased 3 - 10 day MYW tickets, w/hopping, plusses and no expiry. Have not decided yet if I will buy two more 10 day MYW or two PAPs. I will have these for our next year's vacation - and should be getting two trips out of them.

I have my dad buy my tickets for me from the MWR on the navy base.

Usually Disney's official site. However, this trip I used Ticketmania.com and couldn't be happier with their service. I still used WDW's site for my MNSSHP tickets, though. :sunny:

I'm sure that I am in the minority here but I will buy them when I check in. Last trip I bought them in advance looking to save a few $$ (and I did), but I had no idea that they would not be able to print them out for me at PoP. So I had to pick them up at the will call window at mk. It was not worth the $25 I saved. Plus they are paper tickets and are seperate from the room key. Just one more thing to remember or lose.

My Mom works for JP Morgan Chase and they have the best employee prices, but their ticket options aren't that great. They don't offer the plus option, just the hopper option.

My wife works for GM and their prices are just a little bit more than JP Morgan Chase and they offer up to 7 days with all the bells and whistles.

Last year I bought them through AAA (paper tickets also), but this year we went with the 10 day no expiration, hopping with plus (which AAA does not sell - in Charlotte anyway) and it was a lot cheaper to get them through ticketmania than from Disney. They are paper (which was already mentioned), but all of the tickets I have ever had have been paper so it doesn't bother me.

Another vote for Ticketmania here....have ordered as many as 11 P-Hoppers, this yr it will be for 10 and only 2 are for children....i too was concerned with the paper ticket but it worked fine.....

I got my PAP with the DVC discount online and picked it up at the International Gateway. I always buy tickets for other people for DQ and PI from Ticketmania (Mousesavers discount), and before the DVC discount used them to order park admissions too. For those of you worried about paper tickets, the AP and PAP tickets are on the mylar paper too. They hold up pretty well, unless you get them soaked at one of the water parks.
