Hi all, I was going to make some iron on tshirts with the fabulous designs so generously shared here.

I was wondering if you all would know of who makes some quality (and not too expensive) tshirts in different colors. I've used Hobby Lobby and Hanes tshirts before, but they aren't exactly figure flattering, and they are pretty thin. I was hoping to find some good fitted tees in a variety of sizes and for kids as well.

Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!
Jil

I like Target ... The shirts are soft after you wash them, so I find them comfortable. The store also has tanks that aren't ribbed so you can use those also, which comes in hand for summer trips .

I ordered all mine from www.jiffyshirts.com. They have a big variety of styles and colors including kids sizes and infant/toddler sizes. Thy were very reasonable and they shipped and arrived very quickly.

I just got my order from Jiffy Shirts.
All orders are shipped 2 day UPS so they came quick.
I actually have the colored shirts in the dryer right now.
I hope to do a few tonight if the little ones will let me :)

I am pleased with the colors, variety, etc.
I would recomend looking over the shirts before washing them.
As you can't return them after a wash.
One of the 20 I bought had a small defect - nothing I can't fix (just an odd seam by the underarm), so I wouldn't bother sending it back anyway, but I didn't see it until after I washed it and was folding it so it was to late anyway.

Thanks so much for letting me know about Jiffy shirts! It looks like a great place to get the same color with all different sizes.

They have a HUGE variety of brands of tshirts though, do you have any recommendations for which ones look good on people?

Thanks,
Jil

I got a variety since I didn't know which brand I would like better.
I got the Anvil and the Gildan basic styled Ts for women. The fabric feels very similar - the cut on the Gildan is a bit better for me personally...shoulders are farther apart on the Anvil. But the Anvil had the variety of colors I wanted.
These were the second and third ones on the womes t-shirt page 100% cotton.
For men I did the 2 Tagless T brands 2 shirts from each. Again the fabric feels about the same. DH has yet to try them on so?????
My kids are little still so I ordered the RabbitSkin brand, and am also pleased with those.

Just to add
I did a couple transfers last night and they turned out great on the shirts. I also did a couple hotfix type appliques (rhinestone palm trees, etc - not as "vegas" as it sounds ;)) - I am very pleased with these shirts.

I bought Gildan brand t-shirts at CVS last month--they were supposed to be 4/10.00, but they rang up at 67 cents each!!!!! :cool1: So, we got more to have screenprinted for our business as well as to make Disney shirts, about 20 in all. They only had adult sizes, so I got DD6 a small adult and will add a ruffle and make a mini-dress out of it.

The shirts wash very well and are heavy enough without being like the Beefy t from Hanes, and not as thin as the Jerzee t from Michael's. I just did the first transfers on them last night and they look great!! They are well worth their full price of 2.50!!!

I like Target ... The shirts are soft after you wash them, so I find them comfortable. The store also has tanks that aren't ribbed so you can use those also, which comes in hand for summer trips .

I'm glad you mentioned Target--I love their v-neck t for women. Is this the type of shirt you got, that's a little stretchy (not the spandex one, this one says 100% cotton)? I wanted to do my shirts out of these, but had been wondering how the transfer would adhere, since they stretch a little and the fabric's softer. Did your transfer hold up well?

Twice I've ordered from blankshirts.com and been very pleased. They have a huge variety of colors and average (with shipping) $2 per shirt.

Wow, that www.blankshirts.com IS inexpensive!

Do most of you have better luck with 100% cotton or with the 50/50 cotton poly blend? I think the "dress tshirts" I have must have spandex in it (I don't know if that is considered poly), but I could see that spandex would be a bad material to have an iron-on transfer on since it would probably crack with the stretching.

So Glidden has been a good brand? The blankshirts site had one called Port & Co that looked good as well.

Jiffy T's is a good place. My mom ordered some blanks there awhile back for a project for her grandbabies :)

Gildan's are great shirts, as long as they are the 100% cotton ones, the 50/50's are kinda thin for me.

Port and Company shirts are great too! They are actually made in the same factory as a Hanes Beefy T, and are so much cheaper.

I love the shirts from Target, too. They are very soft and comfortable. I made myself a few of the v-neck ones for our trip last August and they held up great.
