:surfweb: We're newbies to WDW...where do you buy your groceries/supplies when needed? We'll be staying 9-10 days...no big deal to leave WDW. Is there a Walmart or Publix, etc. fairly close?

What?!?!?! you don't want to spend 12.00 on 4 rolls of toilet paper at the Ft., 20.00 on a 6 pack of OML.....That was not put into your budget?:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

C'mon...$4 for a 2liter of coke aint that bad!!! oh, wait......yes it is!!

Meadows Trading Post

heh, we bring so much stuff along that we normally don't have to make many shopping trips, so we normally just go to the MTP (oooh, did I just make up a new acronym???). However, for those times where we might need to get a few more things (or things that the MTP doesn't carry), we just head to Publix.

Honestly though, any excuse to browse around the MTP while the wife buys some goods is a good start to the day for me...lol

A tradition for us now is to go to Publix and grocery shop our first morning at FW. Be sure to pick up a couple of packages of the frosted sugar cookies in the bakery department. I know Colson is a fan of these, too.

Another vote for publix, they don't have them up here. I used to go to publix every day for lunch when I lived in Ga. They have the best sandwiches in the deli. Well we need to go to publix in Fl, so I can buy a boat load of english candy. Can't get it anywhere up here, I miss crunchies and smarties, and club bars. MMMMMM

Yep, next to sugar cookies, Publix makes awesome subs. If you're at the Fort and you're looking for something to grab for a nice picnic, head to Publix and pick up some subs. Trust me, you will love them! And you get a lot for what you pay for, these aren't Subway subs. I have to be starving to finish off a footlong sub from Publix, they are hugeeeeee.

English candy? Whats this? Crunchies? Club bars? We have smarties.....the little sweet/sour candies that come in a roll .

I am a faithful Publix shopper!! Can't wait to fire up the grill with some juicy Ribeyes!!

Until they opened the Super WW at Bass Rd. and 192, we used to go to the Publix on 535 just before you get to 192. However, this last time we used the Super WW on 535 and one day DW went into that Publix we used to use and she said it had really gone downhill overall and wasn't what it was 5 or 10 years eariler. With it now about 2 miles between the two Super WW it probably has taken a hit in it's overall customer base.

My mom is from england, and candy is the only good thing she has done in my life LOL. English candy is just different, my DW hates it, but I never eat candy from here, (you wouldn't know that by looking at me) I have friends that send me boxes of english smarties when they go to Canada. They are like m&m's but with english chocolate, and flavored shells. Cruchies are the BEST.

thanx for that adress! We don't have Publix up here but we sure have Smarties :cool1: they like M&M but better!;) I'll take some with me (we can buy them at Costco) and if any of you come visit... I'll give you some:goodvibes

we normally go to publix before we leave, but get anything during the trip that we forgot, and we always forget something, at superwalmart on 535...we are going for two weeks in the summer and hopefully we won't forget much...

Hey...I remember smarties.....those WERE good, and Im not even much of a chocolate candy fan.

Another vote for Publix, we usually stop on the way and stock up for the trip. It's a great store and i'm not just saying that because they contribute to my retirement account each year:thumbsup2

as far as english candy we love the curly wurly's, they are just like maraton bars - anyone remember marathon bars? love that carmel:)

I'm with you Scott, a great store and I don't mind them contributing to my stock options either! :woohoo:
