Where do you buy Autograph books? Have they changed them since 2003?

I should know this, but I can't remember... do they sell autograph books at every park? I'm thinking we might do the Princess Storybook breakfast our first day, but I don't want to get to Epcot and find out they don't have the books. I think we bought ours in MK last time but I don't even remember where (maybe a cart near the front??).

Also, we have 1 book from 2003, its blue with the characters on the front. Is this still the same book they have now? I was disappointed there was only one style to choose from. I know they have other journals, notebooks you can use but I like an official autograph book.

This year we need 2, so I just want to be prepared and not bump into any characters before we get our books.

Thanks!!!!

They have had the same Autograph books in September 2002, 2003, and 2004. They are the blue ones with the characters. The matching pen is the same as well. LOL I did notice that they also had a Princess type one that also had spots to put photos as well. It was larger and cost more but didn't have too many pages. HTH ]

We too bought the blue book in 2003. Last summer I do remember seeing a different one (same size, diff. color/pictures on cover). Most all large gift shops have them-like Mouse Gears which is just inside of Epcot to the left by the fountain. We've also seen them at World of Disney in DTD if you are visiting there the evening before you begin going to the parks.

so maybe there is hope its a different one this year???

anyone been there recently and can confirm?? I'd love to have 2 different ones for my 2 kids.

We bought ours at Tinkerbell's shop right outside of the castle. It was our next to last day in the parks. Had taken DS several times before and he was always content to just hug the characters and then get his picture taken.

Well, we had breakfast at CRT and while he was standing in line to meet the Fairy Godmother, he saw everyone else autograph book. He had to have one. Then, the characters became a mission for him. Had to find the characters to get their autographs.

Anyway, he loves his book and took it to school for show and tell.

I'm thinking about making one on the next trip. Some type of scrapbook where I've written the name of the character and then he can get the autograph and we can put their picture in their, too. Sounds like a good idea, but who knows if I'll find the time.

My dd took hers to school for show and tell too, LOL!!!! I've had the same idea about more of a scrapbook type book, but I also don't want anything huge. I've made a few scrapbook pages after our last trip and just scanned the autograph on to different paper (sometimes vellum) for the scrapbook page. This way I'm creating the scrapbook after the trip (2 years later and I'm still not done, LOL!!!).

I had thought about preordering them so we'd have them upon arrival, but decided not to fork over the extra money to do so! LOL I bought two of them in Downtown Disney the day we arrived (we arrived earlier than our room was ready, so did some shopping). Unfortunately, silly me left them in the hotel room our first day! LMAO! Oh well.. ran into the Emporium at MK and bought two more (later returned the other two). I saw those books EVERYWHERE! I don't think you'll have a problem finding them. I think I'm going to just scan the autographs in on the computer and print them out to put in my scrapbook. This way the girls can keep their books in tact. If I had done some really great planning, I would have used one of the "extra" books for myself! :confused3

While we have gotten the official autograph book in the past, we now tend to come up with our own idea. One year I found a Mickey Mouse journel, with a spiral spine..on sale for $5. I had the character sign one page and kept the facing page free in order to add the photograph later.

We have gotten index cards and put them in a very small index card sized notebook. Tied the pen to the spine. That worked pretty well.

My favorite was using the index cards and putting them into a Winnie the Pooh spiral bound photograph album...next to the photo of the character. We bought the album in the resort gift shop and put it all together when we got home. We now have about 6 different albums with character photos/signings.

And don't forget to put any info that would get the book back to you if it's misplaced in the front cover....we put in the dates of our trip and the resort and dd's name.

We bought the autograph books in 2001. In 2003 we used a small clipboard and blank 4 x6 index cards with a fat pen. I took their picture with each character. After returning home, I put their picture with the character and the autograph on a scrapbook page. They each had their own scrapbook with their own memories. I made one for the family also. They collected maps and other things also for their books. They each decorated the scrapbook with cut out stencils of their name, the date and put Disney stickers all over it.
Even two years later, they love to look at their books and talk about the trip.

It has been the same one since the Millineum. Maybe they will come out with a new one for the 50th Annivesary Celebration!:)

I was at WDW in January and think I remember seeing a red one but am not sure since there were no kids on this trip.

OK, stupid question time. Are we the only ones that use the same autograph book until it is full? It seems most of you start fresh every trip. Do you stand in line for the same characters every time? My kids like the idea that they already have so many that they only have to look/wait for characters we haven't met before. Have we been doing this all wrong?

Maybe it depends on the kids ages. My 7 year old twin niece and nephew love certain characters and sometimes want multiple autographs during the same trip, LOL. Yes we get a new book every trip and they actually filled one up entirely on their last trip.

Nope my kids do the same thing!! One the next clean page I wrote the date of the trip and put a few stickers on the page. Why speand more money when u can save? ( 2 books= $10or so) This trip they will probably get new ones because it is almost full.

my sisters have used the same one since our 1st visit
i haven't
1st trip - bought one but lost it so got another
2nd trip - used the lost one (which was returned through mail)
3rd trip - forgot to bring one so bought another
4th trip - didn't get characters to sign for some reason
one of my sisters got a new one on the 4th trip but it as just a notebook type thing (she got a new one beause her one got SOAKING wet on atlantis in seaworld)

Creative Memories has an awesome 7x7 cranberry album with Mickeys head embossed, that you can use as a signature book - autugraphs on one side and then when you get home you slip a page between autographs for pictures. we have used them for many years.

We always seemed to forget the autograph book at home, so we had to buy a new one. I think we probably have at least 3. One was actually mine when DH and I did an Adult trip. I got an autograph and matching picture of every character we happened on to take home to our then 4 year old DD.

I bought ds's book at our resort while dh was checking us in to our room. I just knew we would "bump" into a character in the park before I got to a gift shop. Sure enough, Chip and Dale were welcoming guests at the entrance of MGM when we arrived.
