I was just looking around the So Cal themepark forum, and there's nothing much about USH over there. I've seen the occasional post about it here.

But is there a place I don't know about where questions *should* go?

We'll be in SoCal this summer, and I figure that we might as well go. :) But I don't know where to start with USH!

Thanks!

I think a few folks over here have been and have answered some newbie questions about USH on this forum, but yeah, don't think there's a specific one separate for there??

I have been to univ-ca.
You can check out their attractions on their website, their HPotter land is brand new. You can also get some info in some of the Disneyland guide books. Be sure to do the 45 minute tram studio tour as that is the biggie that is unique to CA. only. You can do it all in one day. Have fun.

Thanks.

Attractions are easy. Questions like "is there any hotel setup like at Orlando" are what I'm thinking about.

I never have any interest in doing any park in one day, though. :) We did that at disneyland twice as adults, then when we came back for a proper vacation there we realized how much we had missed. We're big wanderers, take in the feel of a place, re-riders, so unless it's half a day post-cruise/pre-flight to get a veggie burger and butterbeer at UO, we're not one day people. :)

It's just not as big as either of the FL parks and all the areas on the Studio tour are off limit to you unless you are on the tour. I DO think it'd be a stretch to get more than one day out of that park. I did like the Studio Tour and the waterworld show was good also but other than that, it is mostly the same attractions that you see in florida without the room to stretch out that you have in florida.
Now there's a lot of things to see in nearby Hollywood especially if you're a movie buff. One thing I'll say about that area is dont pick one of the really cheap hotels as some of them can be pretty bad.
Univ, CA is now a theme park but you get the feel that it is a theme park shoehorned into an existing space not originally designed for that. It's on 2 levels and everything is very condensed. Not a lot to explore and savor other than the attractions. But the area as a whole is interesting beyond the park.

Disneyland forum only has scattered subthreads as to So Cal, buried in there is info re U. There are a few posters who will answer direct questions but other than that, I'd look elsewhere. Believe since it's mostly 'a locals' park (as in continental divide westward lol) , not as much interest here.

There's a nice Hilton that's 'onsite' that was in final stages of refurb last Oct. As close as you can get, it's a 10 minute walk up the steep hill/5 down lol, also a free shuttle that is supposed to run every half hour. Another hotel (believe starwood/sheraton) is further downhill. There's a metro stop near bottom of hill with access to Los Angeles and to pick up trains, even to anaheim (near BB stadium I believe).

we've gone up to U from DL a few times vs grey line as a day trip. too long of a bus trip for us back & forth and you don't get there for park opening, but it's always been easily done in a day (pre HP) no idea of crowds now.

last October flew into BUR, short cab to hotel, did the park/HHN and had uber set up to take us to Knotts. It was less than renting a car, really didn't want to drive anyway. I have a TR somewhere here re last year.

imo DL/CA needs at least 3 full days, if not more. Love the DLH or DVC villas there, a perfect home base imo but many are happy with places on Harbor Blvd etc., which are certainly close to the parks.
