I am new to this discussion group and one thing I have noticed while reading the threads is the cute pictures many of you include. Please share with me how you do those?
To display an image it needs to be stored on a webserver somewhere on the net so that the URL (the address) of the image can be included in the message.
Typically your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will provide (as a part of your service) some space on their webserver for you to put your own webpage. That's where you want to store your image.
So take your image (save it as a .JPG or a .GIF to compress it as small as possible) and save it to your webspace and then use the "IMG" button from the 'Post Reply/vB Code' menu to enter the URL.
Say your image is "my_picture.jpg" the URL might look like
Connie, look at the top of the screen, click on cp ... go to Option and click..... go to bottom of page for Avatars click on more info, you can pick any that are.available
Avatars.....which are are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. You can select the image that best describes yourself from your profile options.
Thank you deputy disney for your help regarding Avatars (which by the way I had no clue what they were) If I did it right I should have the eeyore angel appearing.
OK Chris C whats the deal about a signature? Where will that show up and how do you do that-is it another cute little picture? Or are you just kidding around? You mean I could learn two new things in one day? So the saying you can still teach a old dog new tricks is apparently still true in my case-haha.
Your signature is just the information at the bottom of your posts. It can include text, as well as an image if you like. The information is put right into your "profile" and will automatically display whenever you post or reply to a thread.
Some people have information on up-coming trips, or a history of past trips... It's al up to you to decide what you want there.
I've just added a little somthing to show you how it works. You can go to the User CP then click on Edit Profile, scroll down until you see the box titled Signature You can change the text and image to anything you like.
