We will being doing the dolphin encounter on our cruise and I was wondering where I would be able to keep my money credit card etc......
I certainly can't take it in the water with me?

Thanks!!:earsgirl:

you can get these little lanyard boxes in Mickey's mates that are water tight. We got the size that would hold your kttw card, photo id a little cash and a credit card. Then when you dive in just tighten the "noose" so to speak and your stuff goes right with you nice and safe. I really like them and have used them at home too, we lock our valuables in the trunk and just throw the trunk key in it and can swim at the beach with no worries about dissapearing wallets etc.

I second the vote for getting the lanyards with the waterproof box. There are two sizes.

When I sail, I keep my KTTW card and drivers license in it. Even when we go shopping and I have a pocketbook, I find it easier to have my ID's in the lanyard rather than digging through my purse for it.

Is Mickey's Mates a store on the ship? These sound like a great idea!

There are two stores, Mickey's Mates and Treasure Ketch. The latter is mostly adult clothing, toiletries, some art pieces, etc. Mickey's Mates has the kids stuff, some adult clothing, pins, toys, picture frames, etc.

Please keep in mind that the stores are only open at specific times. Their hours are regulated by some screwy laws that I don't understand. Rule of thumb: they won't be open while in port.

I think they can not open in port so as not to compete with the locals. The economies of the countries visited are hugely dependant on cruiselines. It can be inconvient though if you run out of something you need and the ship is not leaving port for an hour. :(

We just returned from the 4-day cruise, and we did the Dolphin Encounter program. We were given small complimentary lockers right there on the docks. DH chose one and deposited our two fanny packs; he put the key into the zippered part of his swim trunks. We didn't have room in there for our shoes and clothes, but they were only ten feet from us -- and everyone else had to return on the same boat. If someone had stolen my shoes, I could have sought them out on the return trip.

Have you ever heard of the "Mommy Bank"? That's always a good place to keep the cash!
