So, where did you stay during your wedding (and would you have changed it)?

I would love to stay at the Beach Club where the reception is, but then think about the $$ that could be saved by downgrading and putting it towards something extra towards the wedding/honeymoon. Plus, most of our guests will be staying between the value (ASMovies) and moderate (CBeach).

What did you decide, and would you have done it any differently?

We stayed at the Beach Club Villas. I rented points through a DIS member for a 2 bedroom villa. I wouldn't have changed it as I love this resort. Plus our ceremony was at Sea Breeze Point and our reception was at Ariel's. It was nice being so close.

We stayed at the Boardwalk the days surrounding the wedding. Its our favorite resort, and for us its worth the extra money for the location alone. Mid-way through our honeymoon we switched to AKL. We had gotten a great AP rate, and switching allowed us to stay a couple extra days. AKL was amazing and I would stay there again, although I did miss having EPCOT right next door while we were there.

We stayed at WL and loved it! It's so romantic :lovestruc We were married there, at Sunrise Terrace, so it was incredibly convenient to go back to our room after the ceremony and pictures. The night before the wedding my MOH stayed with me, DH stayed with my dad, and M/FIL were all at WL too. After the wedding MOH stayed with my sister and aunt at Pop and my brother and his wife stayed at Pop too.

We absolutely love WL and wouldn't have changed a thing. We'd stay there every time if we could :goodvibes

We stayed at the Grand Floridian the days surrounding the wedding. It worked out wonderfully, since I had a bridesmaids lunch at the GF tea room, our rehearsal was in a GF ballroom, our rehearsal dinner was next door at the Polynesian, and our pre-ceremony pictures were at the GF (the ceremony was at the WP). It was great having such a convenient location, and I wouldn't change a thing about where I stayed.

Hello

Just found these pages.....
We stayed at the Floridian...Figured it was the only time
we would ever have the chance. Our wedding party and family
stayed at the Carib. Beach

I stayed at the BC with my MOH and BM. My family stayed there as well. DH stayed at the Coronado with his family and friends. Then on the wedding night, we had a concierge room at the GF booked for 2 nights. Then since we were having such a good time, we extended one more night and stayed at the Boardwalk, which they upgraded us again to a concierge room.

If you are looking for something romantic yet not too pricey, I think POFQ would be very nice, quiet, and small.

We stayed a few nights at the Contemporary in the tower. Then we moved over to the Boardwalk and stayed in a garden suite during the wedding and honeymoon. Well worth it even though there was no discount available.

we stayed at the yacht club for 10 days & it was perfect, i wouldnt have changed a thing. the yacht club is nice in its own but was even nicer since our wedding & reception were there. it not only saved us money & time commuting but we had a view of the gazebo our whole trip from the balcony.

The first two nights before the wedding we are staying at Pop. One reason is to save mony and the other is because it is regular season the first two nights and then it switches to value season so we wanted the valu rates. The night prior to the wedding and for the honeymoon we are staying at the Grand Floridian.

We stayed at the Yacht Club for four nights (one prior to the wedding then three afterwards). We also stayed at AKL and did a 4 night Disney Cruise as well - all of which were excellent! I'm sure the resort you choose will be all you want it to be! :) Happy wedding and honeymoon!!

We stayed at the Yacht Club. Some of my guests stayed at the Beach Club and some at the Carribbean beach.
The Yacht club was fabulous. We stayed there because it was close to the YC gazebo, and because of the location. There is Epcot and MGM just a few minutes walk away, the Boardwalk to go out for drinks at night, plus you can use eithe hotels facilities. I just wish I had spent more time there because a week wasn't enough.

We had a week on I-Drive with our family prior to the wedding.
The day before the actual wedding, we switchhed to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and it was fabulous.

Have you considered renting DVC points to stay at BCV? It can save you a significant amount compared to the rack rate.

There's a whole forum dedicated to DVC here on this Dis where you can get information and arrange to rent points from a DVC owner.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. :teeth:

We are staying at SSR with rented DVC points to be a little removed from all the hustle and bustle and also to be close to DTD.

I am staying at WL. We have both always wanted to stay there, so we figure it will be perfect!

Way back in 1995, we stayed at the Polynesian for our honeymoon in a lagoon view room. The 22 other people who we brought with us on our honeymoon also stayed at the Polynesian!

For our vow renewal in May, we were everywhere (as you can see from my signature!!). For the first week of our vacation, we were at Shades of Green, Hard Rock Hotel and the Nick Hotel. Iver the actual vow renewal, we stayed at the Beach Club (with free Concierge access pixie dust at check-in) and switched to the Contemporary Tower MK view the day after our renewal.

Our reception is at the Boardwalk and that is where we are staying for 9 nights. We thought the same thing stay in a mod and switch but I really want to enjoy myself and not have a huge hassle of switching hotels...just my opinion!Plus it is my wedding and I want to stay somewhere nice and romantic :goodvibes

I resort hopped. And I am not sure I would do it again. The first night was at POFQ, the night before the wedding Boardwalk Garden Suite (AWESOME), and then the POLY conceirge for 2 nights. I loved the Poly. I loved the Garden Suite too. If we can we would go back and do either one of those again.

We're staying at BC before our wedding and the night of our wedding. It was not a tough decision for us. I am from the beach and feel so at home at this resort :cloud9: We're getting married at SBP and having our reception at Ariel's so it is super convenient. We are encouraging all our guests to stay there as well. For our disneymoon, we are swiching to Poly b/c we wanted a romantic, islandy feel
