I'm glad for you that Canada won, but I hate shootouts to determine such things. It's OK for regular season games, but not for Olympic medals or invitations.

The first time we went out together was to a bar with friends, we went on our actual first date a week later and we went to lunch overlooking the ocean, mini golf, a walk on the beach, and then to dinner with our friends that night! Best first date I ever had!

The ex and I attended the opening of the restaurant a friend of his started as a first date. After we went to Brooklyn and disco roller skated a lot of the night away at the Empire. Thennnnnn we walked back over the bridge, sat down at David's Potbelly for a sun going up meal of potato pancakes, omelettes and burgers. I went straight to school, took a shower in the gym and off to class. Left him at the resturant so he could go home and get some sleep. Makes me tired just writing this, LOL.

The man and I went to the 9th Avenue Food Festival and then to the Beacon Theater to see a doo-wop show; little did I know I'd have a lifetime of seeing the Platters, Drifters, etc revival shows and dinner theatres, LOL. In his defense he lets me drag him along to every Talking Heads members' shows I can find .

My ex and I’s first date was at an indie movie theater near my apartment. We started dating nearly a year later when he bought me a book of movie tickets to the same theater and asked me to be his girlfriend.

But we had been friends for years beforehand... So our first “hang out” was a trip to Taco Bell as college students. We brought it back to his dorm and ate it on the floor. We were not entirely sober.

We went out to the beach to watch the cruise ships leave. They were in port for the port-of-call, and so they left pretty late, after the sun had set.

I was still in my ballet clothes (leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun) when he showed up at my house and asked me to go watch the ships leave with him. I remember telling him, there is no way my mom will let her teenage daughter go out to the beach at 9:00pm with her boyfriend.

But she did. "Just be home by midnight and wake me up to let me know you're home."

It was as simple as that. We went out and stood on the beach and watched the ships, all sparkling and lit up, as they sailed off. Me, still in my little leotard and pink tights.

me and my partner went to see Toy Story 1 followed by Pizza Hut , we were both 18 at the time so it made sense.

Aside from quick grabs for coffee when we were just friends, our "official" first date was Blue Man Group.

DW and I went to a Chinese restaurant and then went to the movies to see...St. Elmo's Fire.

We went to an indoor go cart racing place. I'll never forget that she stayed close enough to bump me out of the lead!

We went to a local Mexican restaurant and watched the local college hockey game on tv while eating. We make it a point to do the same thing every year on the weekend closest to our dating anniversary.
